It doesn’t matter what kind of mom you are! If you work outside of the house, work at home, or stay at home, you’re probably a busy mom! That means you probably need a busy mom cleaning schedule! That is something we all have in common these days, right?
So when spring cleaning time rolls around, if you’re anything like me, you might be feeling overwhelmed. But don’t worry! With a daily home cleaning schedule that breaks it down into manageable bits of cleaning, your home will be refreshed for spring in no time!
Busy Mom House Cleaning Schedule
For us, spring cleaning isn’t a special thing. Sure, I might take on a few extra projects like cleaning out a closet or something. But spring cleaning is more about making sure we’re on top of the little cleaning chores that add up to a lot.
I take it as a time to revisit what we’re doing and see if the way we’re doing things is working well for us and helping us take care of our home.
When it comes to spring cleaning and figuring out the best house cleaning schedule for your family, I’ve found that the key to success is breaking it down into smaller tasks.
If I don’t, I can’t stay on top of things! I’ll be the first one to admit it! When the jobs pile up, I end up doing my best to avoid them. So making a busy mom house cleaning schedule that works for your family is really the secret.
Let me share the daily home cleaning schedule that works well for us:
- Monday: Sweep and mop (for us this is our entire first floor)
- Tuesday: Vacuum (in our houses this means the entire second floor)
- Wednesday: Clean the inside of the windows (we added this to the schedule because we have young kids and dogs)
- Thursday: Dust
- Friday: Wash and dry the laundry.
- Saturday – Clean the bathrooms. (We split this job between all of the adults so everyone has a bathroom to tackle. You could do this with older kids as well.)
- Sunday: Fold the laundry. (Yes, I’ve discovered it works better to let the laundry wait to be folded. Now, if there’s something that needs to be folded or hung up right away, I do that!)
Then there are the little things we do every single day. These are things like:
- Load and run the dishwasher
- Wipe down the kitchen counters and sink
- Tidy up (put the toys away where they go, sort the mail and throw away the trash)
- Empty the kitchen garbage cans as needed
By putting us on my busy mom house cleaning schedule and tackling jobs in short spurts, it all seems to get done on a much more consistent basis! It means there is less intense, deep cleaning to be done because we keep up with it regularly!
So make a list of all of your family’s basic cleaning tasks and break them down by day. Then stock up on your cleaning supplies and get things done a little each day with your daily home cleaning schedule
I mentioned stocking up on your cleaning supplies. I’m one of those people that seems to want to buy all the latest cleaning supplies to check them out.
