Celebrate the First Flush with Pull-Ups

Last month I shared with you that W was now a Pull-Ups First Flush Ambassador. That meant that it was time for me to get on board and really bring potty training home from work with me. I’m looking forward to celebrating our first flush here at home. We’re still waiting for it to happen but I’m a patient woman.

On January 29th, Pull-Ups is throwing a giant potty training celebration in Times Square for parents and little ones kick-off potty training the right way. Maybe I need to book a flight for W! You can share you child’s First Flush celebration moment for the chance to be featured on a Times Square billboard during the party! How fun is that?

Potty Training Check In

With the big First Flush celebration on the horizon, I took a look at how potty training is going here in our house. I’ll admit that I haven’t been putting as much effort into things as I should. At work, I am potty training a student and we have put together a nice routine that seems to be working with her.

At home, I get lazy. It’s true. Admitting it is the first step, right?

W is showing some signs of being ready. So my plan is to incorporate the potty more into our daily routine. Here are some things I want to get him comfortable with as part of our routine:

  • Washing his hands – I think it will be a great way to get him in the bathroom. And it’s a habit I definitely want him to develop!
  • Sticker chart  – W is into stickers these days, so I think this could be a great way to motivate and reward him.
  • Get the whole family involved – This is going to be key to our success. Although I’m with W the most, Grambo and J definitely need to be part of the process since we all live under the same roof.
Those are my goals, in addition to introducing W to the potty in a relaxed manner. He loves coming in the bathroom with me so I just need to get him to take a few turns sitting on the toilet. And I’m hoping it won’t take long before we have our first big First Flush celebration!

Tell me about your potty training successes!
