When it comes to spending time with the grandkids during the summer, some of our happiest moments together are when we get creative in the kitchen! It gets pretty hot around here by mid-day so we find ways to have fun indoors. Last week we made these easy chocolate pretzel bars for an afternoon snack with a little help from HERSHEY’S!
Chocolate Pretzel Bars
Summer officially begins on June 20th (also known as Summer Solstice) this year but it’s already super hot here! Our Texas summer afternoons are sizzling and it really feels like summer!
This summer, HERSHEY’S is all about helping busy families remember that they can choose happiness anywhere, at an time through Hello Happy Moments. It’s true, we can all choose to find happy moments during the day, even if we’re stuck inside on a hot summer day with a heat advisory!
So check out how easy it is to make our chocolate pretzel bars, then make them with your own kids!
What You Need:
- Chocolate graham crackers (enough for each person to have their own)
- Pretzels (about a handful per person)
- HERSHEY’S KISSES chocolates (can melt in microwave) or HERSHEY’S Spreads in Chocolate (easy for my little ones to spread)
We love using HERSHEY’S KISSES chocolates for many of our chocolate treats, but if you don’t want your kids using the warm melted chocolate, we tried using HERSHEY’S Spreads in Chocolate this time and it was just as delicious!
What You Do:
- Crush the pretzels in a plastic bag (This is the step the kids are great at!)
- Spread HERSHEY’S Spreads in Chocolate on graham crackers.
- Sprinkle crushed pretzels on graham crackers.
- Enjoy together!
We had a blast making our chocolate pretzel bars and then eating them! It was a little bit messy but that made it even more fun! We definitely had a Hello Happy Moment together!
So use Summer Solstice as the perfect reason to spend time with your family. It’s celebrated around the world and you don’t want to miss out on the celebration! Moments together with my grandkids are the happy moments in my day.
Even when we don’t have time to make something special, we always have time to share hugs and kisses. Sometimes we even share HERSHEY’S KISSES! They are definitely a Hello Happy Moment!
