Disney Films 2012 Score 17 Oscar Nominations

I just want to say one thing. And that is, “I told you so!” Okay so maybe I didn’t actually tell anyone, but I knew that some of the 2012 Disney films 2012s were going to make an impact when it came to this year’s Oscar nominations. Experiencing most of the nominated Disney films 2012 in LA last year helped me feel the magic. I knew something amazing was happening.

Some of the best films I saw last year came from the magic minds at Disney. Two I have seen multiple times since I first saw them. Lincoln and Wreck-It Ralph. If you haven’t seen them, I suggest you do it now. Seriously. I cannot wait to add a copy of both movies to our DVD collection. There are no questions that we will be adding them.

So enough of my rambling. You can look back over all of my initial ramblings in my #DisneyMoviesEvent coverage to learn more about why you need to see the 2012 Disney offerings! Now I need to share the important news in case you haven’t read it elsewhere!

Lincoln received 12 nominations including Best Picture. And I was completely thrilled because… YES!

  • Best Picture
  • Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role – Daniel Day-Lewis
  • Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role – Sally Field
  • Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role – Tommy Lee Jones
  • Directing – Steven Spielberg
  • Adapted Screenplay – Tony Kushner
  • Music (Original Score) – John Williams
  • Cinematography – Janusz Kaminski
  • Costume Design – Joanna Johnston
  • Film Editing – Michael Kahn
  • Production Design – Rick Carter, Jim Erickson
  • Sound Mixing – Andy Nelson, Gary Rydstrom and Ronald Judkins

And I predict there will be much winning going on. It would all be extremely well-deserved.

Wreck-It Ralph, Brave, and Frankenweenie

Did you see any of these animated films? I did and love them all. So it’s only right that they were all nominated for Best Animated Feature Film. Come on Disney, bring home the Oscar.

Oh, and the gorgeous animated short, Paperman? Oh yeah, nominated for Best Animated Short Film! Love it! I’m definitely rooting for this one to win. I want to see more of their story!

The Avengers

Oh, and I cannot forget Marvel’s The Avengers. J would be bummed out as he is definitely superhero movie type. And it was nominated for visual effects, so I’m hoping to see it snag another Oscar! Yes, I’m clearly rooting for Disney on Oscar night! I’ll proudly admit it!

I obviously have a favorite and would love to see Lincoln take home all of its nominations. And I’ll also admit that I’m rooting for Wreck-It Ralph. So, I’ll just be over here shaking my little pom-poms on Oscar night. Except I don’t have any pom-poms. We do have Mickey Mouse maracas though, so I’ll have to improvise!

What was your favorite Disney movie of 2012?
