Disney Pixar’s Inside Out Trivia
I’ve been sharing some amazing behind the scenes info from the creation of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out movie over the past month. With the movie just a few weeks away, I wanted to share some fun Inside Out trivia I learned when I had the chance to sit down and chat with director, Pete Docter, and producer, Jonas Rivera.
Check out some of the fun things I learned about this amazing movie!
Emotions in Early Versions
The final cut of the film includes the emotions of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust. But early versions included Logic as the leader of the emotions. That was later changed to being Riley because she is the leader of her emotions. Early versions also included Pride but then more research pointed to the idea that it could be a combination of Joy and Disgust.
The movie was almost titled Cake. Okay, maybe that wasn’t really a possibility but the title Inside Out wasn’t decided until fairly late in production so the team referred to the project as cake for quite a while! And who doesn’t love cake, right?
More about Joy
Joy is the most colorful character as you may have noticed. She’s also the most dimensional. While all of the other emotions have body color and hair color that match. You might notice that Joy’s hair doesn’t match her body. The blue is her connection to sadness. In the movie, Joy learns that joy can come through sadness. It’s an important lesson for all of us!
Emotions as a Team?
Each emotion has a job and they want to do it well. They all think they know best but in the end they are a team that’s watching out for Riley. They all want her to be happy, they just have different ways of doing that. So you’ll see that all of the emotions have a little bit of other emotions in them.
Disney Easter Eggs
Be sure to keep your eyes open if you’re a fan of Disney Easter Eggs in the movies. Some of the things you might spot are the Pizza Planet truck, Figment, Ratatouille characters, Lava, and others! Check out the the memory spheres and see what you might be able to spot in some of those!
Inside Out hit theaters on June 19th and I can’t even tell you how amazing it is! Be sure to put it on the calendar for your family! You can also learn more about the movie by connecting with Inside Out on Facebook and following Disney/Pixar on Twitter @DisneyPixar!
