Grambo and I have really been getting into entertaining our friends and family. We love having everyone over and the holiday season is the perfect reason to send out some invites! It can see daunting though but with some easy holiday entertaining ideas you can spend less time on the logistics and more time making memories!
Easy Holiday Entertaining Ideas
Now that we’re finally getting our house looking more like our home (after living here three years), we love inviting people over. We had been planning to have a holiday open house since February! So we had a lot of time to plan but even so we wanted it to be easy. We didn’t want to spend hours preparing because that seems to lead to stress.
So we kept it simple with these tips and put together a fabulous holiday party!
Go simple when it comes to the food and drinks that you serve. We hosted our party from 7:00 – 9:00 so that we didn’t have to serve a full meal. And then we made it fun by inviting our guests to bring their own favorite holiday cookie to add to the table. But the end of the night we had cookies of all shapes and sizes. And I had to try them all! Yes, I’ll admit it!
Oh and when it comes to the food, it doesn’t have to all be homemade! Make it easy on yourself and pick up what you need at the store!
One thing that most people probably think about is using disposable plates and cups for entertaining. It makes clean up much easier because there is less to do!
For our parties, we depend on SOLO because SOLO is more than cups! The brand offers Paper, Heavy Duty and Premium Strength products. The heavy duty plates were perfect for loading up on cookies!
One of the quickest ways for things to get expensive is in the drink area. If you’re wanting to provide alcohol at your holiday celebrations, I suggest buying boxed wine or more affordable bottles. If you put the wine in a decanter, no one will ever know!
You can have festive offerings without having to make a bunch of special punch recipes. There are lots of seasonal soda flavors out during this time of year so take advantage!
I also whipped up a batch of Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate that was a huge hit! (Recipe coming soon!)
SOLO offers a variety of cups to help you prepare for you holiday celebration including:
- Clear cups
- Ultra cups (in different color)
- ‘It’s My Solo’ Cups (peel the label and you can scratch your name so you don’t lose your cup!)
The great thing about holiday entertaining is that you don’t have to spend much (if any) on the decor. Use what you have!
We used some red chargers we had under our festive SOLO plates to make cute serving platters for the cookies! And our table made use of a red table cloth and Christmas stocking table runner we already had! Add in our Christmas trees and it was easy to set the mood!
The most important part of this time of year is enjoying yourself and making memories. So take a deep breath and take a simple approach to holiday entertaining. Then you’ll be sure to have a good time!
