Welcome to the Freedom Giveaway Hop hosted by I Am a Reader, Not a Writer and Simply Stacie! From July 1st to July 7th, I encourage you to visit each participating blog for your chance to win book related prizes! There are currently over 200 blogs participating in the hop!

I am sponsoring a wonderful prize pack featuring one of my favorite children’s book characters: Pigeon! As an elementary school teacher, I have read a lot of children’s books over the past 6 years. I own a personal library of over 3,500 children’s books and Pigeon remains one of my top five favorite children’s book characters.

Pigeon is the star of some of my favorite books written and illustrated by Mo Willems. Pigeon is the star of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, The Pigeon Wants a Puppy, The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog, and Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! Mo Willems has also created two board books featuring Pigeon that are perfect for younger readers! We already own The Pigeon Has Feelings, Too and I cannot wait to get The Pigeon Loves Things That Go!

One lucky Formula Mom reader will receive a copy of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, The Pigeon Has Feelings Too board book, and a Pigeon plush toy! This would be a great gift for a child in your life or even for yourself! Once you’ve read a Pigeon book, I think you’ll be hooked!

I’d share with all three of my kids but maybe the littlest the most since she’s not quite 2 and just starting to sit for books like Mo’s.

My daughter and I have loved the author Mo Willems ever since we read THERE’S A BIRD ON YOUR HEAD. So I would definitely share this with her.

There is also a DVD of DON’T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS. One of the bonus features is a visit by the author where he shows kids how to draw his characters.
