Fun Scooter Games for Kids
When it comes to summer, my kids love being outdoors. They don’t seem to mind the Texas summer heat although we do try to stay inside during the hottest times of the day. For them, it’s all about adventure and turning everything we do into fun!
I can’t blame them for it either! I love sharing in the fun adventures with them! Whether we’re checking out a new playground in our area, going to the swimming pool, or just hanging out in the cul-de-sac, I want to have fun this summer.
Radio Flyer has been part of our lives since Weston was young. For 100 years, Radio Flyer has been powering play and inspiring imagination in kids of all ages including myself and my kids!
They’re the world’s leading builder of wagons, tricycles, preschool scooters, and other ride-ons. We’ve always owned a Radio Flyer Wagon and tricycle, so I was excited to have the opportunity to try out the Build-A-Scooter and add another quality ride on to our collection.
Easy to Play Scooter Games
My kids love scooters and I had a good time using Radio Flyer’s Build-A-Scooter feature to put together a coordinating pair for Weston and Carrigan so we could get outside and play some fun scooter games together!
The great thing about getting outside with scooters is that there are so many easy to play scooter games! I’m talking about free scooter games! Once you’ve got a scooter and either a quiet street, cul-de-sac, or driveway and have some fun!
Agility & Obstacles
Weston loves to set up challenges so we use things like buckets and balls to make our own obstacles. You don’t really need any special equipment. Just collect some items from around your yard or garage and make different challenges!
Both of my kids have a bit of a competitive nature in them. I’m working to cultivate it a bit so they don’t argue about who wins all the time. We always have to have some scooter races, but then I help them set up some relay type races where they have to work together.
The easiest way to do this is to have them race against the clock. Having them each ride a lap around the cul-de-sac while timing them gets them working together to see how they can make their overall team time faster than the time before.
Design Your Own Track
When it comes to fun scooter games, sidewalk chalk is one of our best friends! We love to draw our own roads and race tracks on our driveway and into the cul-de-sac.
Every time it’s a new design! The rain washes away the old path to follow and we can start all over again!
Imagination & Adventure
Carrigan is an expert at imaginative play these days. As part of the 100th anniversary, Radio Flyer created a kid’s travel agency! It encourages children to use their imaginations to travel to places like Mount Puppy (Carrigan’s favorite) and Dragon’s Butt Island (Weston’s favorite) while traveling on their scooters.
We armed ourselves with fun protection like Dragon Drool Defense (sunscreen spray), Rabid Monster Repellant (insect repellant), and Beef Barf Blaster (hand sanitizer) while we dreamed up adventures outside.
I love that Radio Flyer is encouraging kids to use their imaginations and keep on dreaming. It’s something that’s important to me as a parent.
