I know many people who had a rough year in 2009, but I am blessed to have had a fairly good year. Sure, it had its ups and downs, but I wouldn’t expect any different. I spent some time yesterday thinking over the past year and the blessings it has brought. Being recognized as Teacher of the Year for my campus was definitely a highlight in the career area of my life. Celebrating my first anniversary and wrapping up our first entire calendar year as a married couple.
The summer brought some challenging times for my family, but as we head into the new year, it seems that these issues are on the mend as well. Finally, the sale of our house in Cy-Fair in such a short time at full asking price was truly a blessing from God.
Despite the rollercoaster ride it was, we are truly blessed to step into 2010 without that burden on our shoulders. Oh, and Toby didn’t get drunk at the party last night unlike last year. The sentiment “Don’t let the dog drink!” was heeded and all was well this year.
Today, the first day of 2010 and a little over a month until my 30th birthday, I know this year is going to be significant in my life. I plan a continued focus on health and fitness with my personal training and walking. I’m registered to walk a 10k in February in my continued preparation to walk a half-marathon.
As a family we’re also working on paying off debt in preparation for starting our family and saving for a new home. By the end of 2010 I will have completed grad school and my principal certification, as well. On top of all of that, I have set a goal to read 50 books by the end of the year!
It’s going to be an amazing year and I cannot wait to see where God leads me and my family.
Happy 2010! God bless!
