The Information Blanket was developed out of the fact that infant health information can mean the difference between life and death for infants in certain areas of the world. Lack of information is a contributing factor to infant mortality rates around the world. The mission of the Information Blanket is to provide blankets printed with vital newborn care information to parents around the world in an effort to reduce infant mortality. Over 600 blankets have already been delivered to mothers and babies in Uganda where the infant mortality rate is one of the highest in the world.
The Information Blanket aims to educate new mothers around the world and reduce infant mortality rates!
I was thrilled to learn about The Information Blanket. They also operate on a “one for one” business model which means that for every blanket sold they give one to a mother and child in need. This is an amazing movement, especially during the holiday season.
I had the opportunity to use The Information Blanket and was first impressed by its size. It measures 32″ by 32″ and is a good size for swaddling. It is made in the USA from 100% cotton and the printing is done using non-toxic inks. In addition to be safe for the smallest baby, it is also chock full of a wealth of information.
As you can see, there is a great deal of information printed on the blanket. I love that it has the fever temperatures on it because that is one thing I could never remember without checking a book or information from the pediatrician. I also like the signs and symptoms for illness as well as the height growth chart. Even though W has always been at the top of the growth charts, I was always wondering what the average ranges where so I like that feature as well.
You can purchase The Information Blanket on their website for $40. Remember that when you purchase a blanket, one will also be sent to a less privileged newborn in Uganda. This is a purchase that makes a great gift but also makes a difference in someone else’s life.
I personally plan on donating The Information Blanket I received to a local organization that provides items for mothers and babies in need in my local area. They are in need of many baby products this time of year and I have some food to donate. I will be including The Information Blanket as well!
