Although I didn’t have any newborn photos taken of W (except the hundreds of photos I took on my own those first few weeks), I did have professional photos taken of him at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 11 months, and 1 year. I had a variety of experiences as I took advantage of deals available on one of the local deal websites. For W’s 3 month photos I took him to a portrait studio in a local store and I took him to a different portrait studio on his actual birthday for his 1 year photos. For his 6, 9, and 11 (that was when she could schedule us in) I used professional photographers that I found through the local deals. We had a variety of experiences and I learned that the most important thing is to find a photographer or a studio that you’re comfortable with using. It’s the key to getting the best photos.
Our most successful photo sessions have been with photographers that put W at ease and put me at ease. It’s also important to find a photographer or studio that starts your session on time especially when you have young children with you! They have short attention spans and if you’ve already had to wait for your appointment to get started, the window of opportunity gets shorter and shorter by the minute!
We have a number of Portrait Studios in the stores in my area including the jcpenney Portrait Studio. I am trying to decide if I will get photos of W at 18 months or just wait until closer to his 2nd birthday so I have been checking out the local Portrait Studios while I try to decide what type of financial investment I will be able to make this year. If you are looking to capture memories at an affordable cost, check out jcpportraits’ April promotion of $20 for 6 traditional portrait sheets (mix and match size and images) as well as one free $9 sitting fee. For families who have tighter budgets, jcpenney is offering an affordable way to capture the memories!
The jcpenney Portrait Studio has a wide variety of options and inspiration ideas and I pinned a few of my favorite ideas on Pinterest. I loved one of the photos on the jcpenney website and definitely want to do something similar for W’s second birthday. They also have ideas for family portraits, holiday photos, senior portraits, and business photos.
jcpenney has portrait studios nationwide, making it easy to find a location near you and take advantage of the April promotion! Enter your email on the locator on their website and you’re on your way!
Have you had portraits of your child taken? Have you ever used the jcpenney Portrait Studio for your family’s photography needs?
