Do you let your kids play in the dirt? We do and when Wet Ones® Hand Wipes asked us to share some of our summer play time stories, we jumped at the chance!
Do You Let Your Kids Play in the Dirt?
My kids are pretty typical kids and they love playing outside whenever they can! We’re lucky to live in an area with quite a few local playgrounds so we love to go explore them. I try to be prepared as possible with extra clothes, snacks, and anything we might need. Wet Ones® Hand Wipes are definitely a staple these days because if there is dirt, Weston and Carrigan will have their hands in it!
Weston started playing baseball this year and that means Carrigan comes along to the games and practice. There’s a playground at the ball fields that seemed like something out of a dream when we first arrived. She was thrilled and I was thrilled because it wasn’t too big of a playground for her to play on. Plus, I could see Weston’s field from the playground.
It only took a few minutes to discover that it’s one of the dustiest playgrounds we’ve ever played on! Carrigan is a huge fan of using sticks and her fingers to draw in the sand, dirt or anything like them. So that means it only took a few minutes for her to be down on the ground drawing in the dirt under the playground equipment.
The playground hadn’t gotten new padding mulch in a while which meant it was a dream for her!
To be honest, I couldn’t help but smile. Childhood is supposed to be about playing, getting dirty and having fun. She was doing all of those things!
The way her face lit up as she showed me her hands made my heart melt. It reminded me just how important it is to let our kids experience the world around them. That’s the reason I carry a backpack with me (we’ve graduated up from our diaper bag) full of everything I need to handle the messes, right?
So I pulled out my bag of tricks and got her cleaned up (after taking a few pictures of course!).
Wet Ones® Hand Wipes were perfect for wiping down Carrigan’s hands. Then we changed clothes and were ready to head out to dinner with the grandparents! It was the perfect ending to a great evening at the ball park. Weston had a great practice and Carrigan had quite the adventure.
But they’re also great for around the house. Having young kids means there’s always hands to be cleaned! Whether it’s playing with clay, coloring with markers, or just enjoying a meal, we get plenty of clean up opportunities at home too!
So I make sure we’re stocked at home and when we’re headed out for some fun!
So whether we head out and about or stay home, summer is about making memories together! We’re already making more plans to hit up a bunch of our local playgrounds but we’ve got some other big plans! You can start working on your summer plans now too!
Wet Ones® Antibacterial Hand Wipes are an important asset when it comes to busy family life. Whether you’re getting dirty at the park, outside after a rainstorm (Weston loves to play in the mud) or getting crafty together, they’re a convenient 2-in-1 way to wipe out dirt and messes and kill 99.99% of germs!
