My job in the corporate world is in a place full of caring and selfless people. I’m surrounded by an atmosphere of giving all year long. But during the holiday season, we like to help spread the magic of the season around our community. UPS has the same goals with UPS Wishes Delivered!
The Magic of the Season with UPS Wishes Delivered!
My employer has helped the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation make holiday wishes come true for families struggling with the mental, emotional and financial burdens that come with having a child with cancer. Candlelighters offers financial support in the form of parking passes, grocery gift cards and countless other ways throughout the year.
We offer support for these families by purchasing and delivering gifts for the whole family. We gather all the wrapped presents together and lucky volunteers go to the families’ homes loaded with all the goodies for everyone. These volunteers come back with warm stories and are forever changed. UPS also wants to encourage us all to help spread magic this holiday season. UPS #WishesDelivered celebrates the spirit of the season by giving us all a platform to share our stories about how we spread holiday cheer. And sharing your story can also raise money for charity.
Every time you post your story about how you or someone you know is making holiday wishes come true by making a difference in their community, UPS #WishesDelivered will make a $1 donation for one of these charities (up to $150,000 total donation):
- Boys & Girls Club of America
- World Food Programme
- Toys for Tots Literacy Program
- The Salvation Army
- The UN Refugee Agency
You can post your story on Twitter or Instagram using hashtag #WishesDelivered. You can also visit the #WishesDelivered Site and submit your story there. Check out the Handmade Gifts video to warm your heart and see how other people are making a difference.
What’s your wish? Mine is to spread the magic of the season all year long!
