Meet the Newest Pull-Ups First Flush Ambassador

W is 2! It’s been official for a few weeks now. I’m not sure where my tiny baby went. And I’m not sure who has replaced him. But at least he’s still absolutely adorable! He’s just all boy. And this little boy is starting to show me signs that he’s ready to start potty training! So I’m thrilled (I would say we but I’m not sure thrilled W is going to be) to be a Pull-Ups First Flush Ambassador!

At work I spend a lot of time working on potty training with some of my students. Now I will be working on it at home. I think it will be interesting to see which techniques work in the different settings. I’m hoping to find success in both areas! So far, I have been working to get the kids (including W) comfortable with being around the toilet. Spending some time just sitting on it has actually been a challenge.

I’ll admit that I have a lot of questions about how to approach things:

  • Should we use a potty chair or just an insert on the regular toilet?
  • Should I offer rewards like stickers or small candy?
  • Is a picture schedule helpful at home?
  • How long does it take to potty train a typical toddler BOY?
I feel like I should know these answers because I’ve been working on it for months at school. But working with my own son makes me feel… the pressure! Or something.

Why Wait – Let’s Celebrate! First Flush Party

Next month I will be hosting a “Why Wait — Let’s Celebrate First Flush” party for my friends and their little ones. We will be having toddler-friendly fun complete with party hats and noisemakers to help us celebrate potty training success. I’ll also be able to share Pull-Ups and coupons with my friends.

From now through the end of December, you can apply to host your own First Flush Party too! Visit the Pull-Ups Facebook tab for more information.

Join Me on the Journey

So join me on the potty training journey. You know me, I’ll just be trying everything and trying to figure out the formula that works for us. I’m sure we’ll have our ups and downs (hopefully the Pull-Ups going up and down) but in the end I know my little man will find success. He is growing up to be a big kid now!

To stay connected with Pull-Ups, check them out on the Pull-Ups Facebook page and on Twitter @PullUpsBigKid!

Tell me your potty training tips and tricks! Please!

Formula Mom Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Pull-Ups. I received product samples to facilitate my review and to host a party. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
