Review: Baby Cubes from Juvenile Solutions

Do you make your own baby food? I know many moms do. We do a mix of everything here from homemade to store bought, like everything else we seem to do we have to try a combination! If you are a parent who makes their own baby food then one of the issues you have to deal with is how to store it. You might also be looking for a way to store your frozen breast milk. Although I didn’t ever pump enough to build a freezer stash, I received some frozen breast milk from my sister-in-law and it was challenging to keep all of those bags from sliding all over the freezer shelves!

Juvenile Solutions

I have seen a variety of systems and Baby Cubes from Juvenile Solutions is one of the most versatile storage systems.

Baby CubesBaby Cubes are sold as a set of 4 or 8 individual freezer containers with lids and storage tray. Baby Cubes are different from other products that are similar because they have a lid attached directly to each cube making it simpler to prepare and store baby food. Each size also comes with a storage stacking freezer tray. Baby Cubes have some features that really attracted me to the product:

  • Stackable
  • Airtight
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Microwave safe
  • Freezer safe
  • BPA-free, non-toxic
  • Available in 3 sizes (1oz, 2oz, 4oz)
  • Trays stack on top of each other

For more information on Baby Cubes, check out the FAQ page on the Juvenile Solutions website. Baby CubesI received a package of the 4 ounce Baby Cubes to review. The 4 ounce cubes come four to a tray and I was first impressed by the sturdiness of the freezer tray. These will definitely stack well on top of each other! The cubes themselves feel sturdy as well. I was interested in the joint where the lid meets the bottom of the cube. It was made from a fairly thick piece of plastic so I think that it will hold up well. Juvenile Solutions mentions that you could use these to store breast milk in the freezer. I like the idea because they wouldn’t be sliding all around on the shelves but I have one concern. I am terrible at pouring things and I worry that these (or any size of the cubes) might be difficult to pour from and when I was feeding breast milk every drop was golden! The website also suggests that these could be used for small snacks and I do like that idea because you could put some snacks in them and toss them in the diaper bag! Nothing would get squished and no lids would get lost! So, I love that these have multiple uses and can be used past the infant stage! That is a sign of a good product.Pears in Baby Cubes Pears are some of W’s favorite fruits so I used the Baby Cubes to save some pears. I filled the cube with 4 ounces of pears and you can see that there is plenty of room above the baby food so it’s not filled to the rim. This makes me feel good about the fact that it might not spill out accidentally. I like the size of this cube and I also like that they offer two smaller sizes. This makes for an extremely versatile system that allows you to freeze different things in different amounts. This is the aspect I could see really being useful if you were using them to freeze breast milk. It would allow you to freeze different amounts to have flexibility in what you thaw. Stackable Baby CubesIn addition to being stackable in the freezer trays, the Baby Cubes stack well on their own which is a valuable feature if you have limited freezer space. If you’re looking for a system to store baby food, breast milk, or anything else I would definitely suggest you look into the Baby Cubes from Juvenile Solutions. If you would like to purchase a set of Baby Cubes, you can use the store locator to find a store near you or an online retailer.
