Fisher-Price is a staple in lives of many families, including my own. It didn’t take long after I found out that I was pregnant that I entered the world of Fisher-Price. As a child, I had Fisher-Price toys including my favorite the old school Little People. It’s a name that most moms know well.
Some of W’s favorite baby gear items are Fisher-Price. When he was younger we got a lot of use out of his Fisher-Price Precious Planet Khaki Sands Jumperoo. We also have the Infant to Toddler rocker and it makes an appearance in many of the early photos of my little man. The Rock ‘n Play was a life saver when W was a little guy. More recently, I’ve discovered the world of Fisher-Price toys for older babies and toddlers. I will admit that I purchased quite a few Fisher-Price Little People figures and sets this past holiday season. Right now I think I like playing with them more than W but all of the moms I know rave about them because their kids liked to play with them at a variety of ages. W got the Little People® Zoo Talkers Animal Sounds Zoo for Christmas and I discovered that one of my friends who has a 3 ½ year old daughter got her the same thing! I love that many of the Fisher-Price products cover a wide range of ages.
I was excited to have the opportunity to work with Fisher-Price on a review at Formula Mom. They are a brand that I stand behind completely so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try one of their newer products. We received the Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Musical Dino and as soon as I read about the popping and rolling balls combined with music, I was excited to let W play it. I wasn’t sure if he would like it or not. You never know with these little ones!
I wondered if W would be interested in the ways the balls popped in the dinosaur or if he would be frightened by it. In recent months, the strangest toys seem to scare him. We had a musical snail toy that he used to love but right before Christmas he decided it was one of the most terrifying toys and he would cry whenever he got close to it. Well, it came in handy as the Christmas Tree guard. As a result, I was a bit worried that he might not be a fan of the Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Dino because we don’t have any other toys that pop balls on their own.
Well, I had nothing to worry about it because he loved the Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Dino as soon as I got it out of the box it was shipped in! He could barely wait for me to get it out of the box! Then he had to wait for me to put batteries in it (it does require 3 C batteries) which he thought was the end of the world! But once it was ready to go, he was thrilled even though he had no idea what to do with the balls. The motion of the inside of the dinosaur that makes the balls pop was intriguing enough for him. He just wanted to reach in and push it so that the music would play and it would bounce again and again.
After we played with the Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Dino for a day and I was able to model how to put the balls in, W did learn to put the balls into the belly on the dinosaur. He doesn’t put them on the tail so they will roll down. Instead he likes to throw them right in. I will warn you, he also discovered that it’s a lot of fun to throw blocks, cars, and anything else he can get his hands on into the dino. It can get rather noisy at times. He also loves to lay on his belly by the dinosaur’s mouth and wait for the balls to roll out.
The balls that came with the Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Musical Dino are some of W’s favorites because they fit so well in his hands. He loves to carry two around the house. Of course, with four dogs we have to keep a close eye on the balls!
I will admit that W got more toys than he needed for Christmas and the Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Musical Dino from Fisher-Price arrived right around the holidays so it could have easily gotten lost in the holiday shuffle but it didn’t! It has proven to be one of his favorite toys out of everything he got for his birthday and Christmas!
If you’re looking for something a little different from a brand that is trusted by many parents, I would definitely recommend the Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Musical Dinosaur by Fisher-Price. It has proven to provide hours of entertainment in our home and it is a toy that W goes back to play with again and again.
W’s 30 Second Spot
W’s 30 Second Spot is a new feature here at Formula Mom and it makes its debut with this review! The set up is a simple one. W gets 30 seconds (sometimes a bit more) with the product and you will get to see his unedited interaction with it! Will he approve of the Fisher-Price Poppity-Pop Musical Dino? Watch and see!
You can purchase the Go Baby Go! Poppity-Pop Dino on the Fisher-Price website for $27. I have also seen it on the shelves of many of my local retailers as well.
