Alcohol & Substance Abuse Awareness is a sponsored conversation but one that I think is important for families and parents to think about. In our family, we have a relative who has battles with alcohol abuse for many years. It effects the entire family and so it’s an issue that I think is important for parents to be educated on. My kids are young but time goes quickly and I like to make sure I have a good information when it comes to substance and alcohol abuse awareness.
Substance & Alcohol Abuse Awareness
While I’m not worried about my children and substance and alcohol abuse awareness quite yet, it does impact our family. And I know we’re not the only busy family who have this kind of experience. So I think it’s important to be willing to chat about it with other parents and families.

In addition to medical detox and acute medical stabilization, they offer nutrition monitoring and medical intervention, inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, sober housing accommodations, and aftercare.

I was watching the local news one night not too long ago and they were talking about heroin and local teenagers. I have to admit that I had never thought much about it being an issue, but according to the report, it’s a growing issue for our children. As a parent, that made me want to get myself better educated.
If you’re like me and need to learn more, please check out the History of Heroin infographic from The Recovery Village. I learned a lot in just a few minutes. Then be sure to share it with other parents you know that could use the information!
It really is all about being educated as our families grow. If we stay educated, we’re better able to support the people we love! So don’t hesitate to share these resources in case someone you love needs support!
