Once again I want to touch on the issue of affordability today and discuss another way to save a little money when building your stash. When I was pregnant, I scoured the internet for sales. I love a good deal and I was on the hunt. I used the Announcements at Diaper Pin page to find a wide variety of sales. At the time, there were some great deals on BumGenius AIOs and 3.0s so we have a lot of them in our stash. Luckily, they work very well for us!
Outside of shopping the sales there are options for buying new diapers for less. One way is to purchase prefolds and fitteds and covers. Many Etsy shops and WAHM types offer some extremely affordable diapers. But what if prefolds or fitteds and covers aren’t what you’re looking for? What if you want something that is more user-friendly for the whole family? What if you’re looking for AIOs or pocket diapers? It can be done!
First, let me define what I’m calling affordable in this series of posts. For Summer Fluffin’ an affordable diaper is one that is $12 or less (give or take a few quarters in either direction). While I haven’t found many brand new AIOs in this price range, you can find some great pocket diapers at this price or lower! I have collected a list of a few that I am familiar with and a few that I am not. See how you could build a workable diaper stash of 24 pocket diapers for under $350!
Glow Bug Cloth Diapers
Glow Bug Cloth Diapers is another diaper retailer I discovered while on my hunt for affordable diapers. They are also one of our wonderful event sponsors, so be sure to show them some love! Each diaper comes with two inserts and Glow Bug Cloth Diapers will throw in a free wet/dry bag with every purchase! Packages of 12 Glow Bug diapers are available for $150 or you can get 24 for $300. That works out to $12.50 per pocket diaper! All Glow Bug Cloth Diapers feature snaps and a variety of colors and prints. They offer a boy prints package, a girl prints package, and a spectrum package that includes 12 solid colored diapers with multi-colored snaps. The boy prints package includes 5 minky fabrics and the girl prints package features 8 minky fabrics for those of you who love minky like I do!

If you’ve read any of my older posts, you may have discovered that there are a few diaper colors that I am in love with right now. They include red, orange, brown, gray, and black! Black was one of the first colors I became obsessed with and I discovered Sunbaby diapers while on the hunt for black diapers. You can see the black skull print diaper I ordered from Sunbaby in my P is for Prints post. I figured that the diaper was affordable and it was black, so it was worth a try. It is actually one of our favorite diapers!
My Sunbaby is a 3.0 and they now offer the 4.0. I have read a few reviews and it sounds like the 4.0s are as good as the 3.0s. I may have to get a 4.0 to try it out now! Sunbaby offers some great packages. For $60 (yes, you read that correctly!) you can get 12 Sunbaby 4.0 diapers and 12 inserts! For $108 you can get an entire stash of Sunbaby 4.0s! The larger package includes 24 Sunbaby 4.0 diapers and 24 inserts! They also offer the same packages with additional inserts. If you’re looking for an affordable to use cloth, I would recommend Sunbaby!
As I mentioned, we are fond of our 3.0 and according to the Sunbaby website the 4.0s have been redesigned to include hip snaps and more comfortable elastic. Sunbaby offers 19 different colors and prints so there is something for everyone!
Kawaii Baby Diapers
When talking about affordable cloth diapers, Kawaii often comes up on message boards I read. Based on everything I read, I decided to try them out and while many people rave about them, I personally have mixed feelings. They have not been the greatest for us but they are definitely affordable. They are available on the Kawaii Baby Diapers website and also from a few online diaper retailers.
The Kawaii line includes a variety of diapers that are available at different prices. The Pure & Natural line are pocket diapers with hook and loop closures. They include two microfiber inserts and are $6.50 per diaper. They also offer their One Size Goodnight Heavy Wetter diapers for $7.75 each. The line that drew me in is the Snazzy Minky line as I love minky diapers and most are very expensive. The Kawaii Snazzy Minky diapers are $9.25 and include two inserts. They also offer a bamboo minky for approximately $11. Kawaii does offer both aplix and snap closures and I do appreciate that variety. If you’re interested, they may be worth checking out as I have read many rave reviews even though we have struggled with leaks at my house.
Wallypop is one of my wonderful Summer Fluffin’ sponsors and I discovered them while on the hunt for affordable diapers. They offer fitteds and diaper covers, pocket diapers, and AIOs! The Wallypop fitteds begin at the affordable price of $9.99 and can be customized for additional costs. They offer a wide variety of diaper covers, including a PUL cover starting at $7.00. Now you may be thinking that is $16.99 for one diaper as you need both the fitted and the cover. But fitteds do not require a cover for each fitted so if you purchase 4-6 covers, you will be set.
If you’re not the fitted and cover type, Wallypop has you covered. They offer pocket diapers starting at $12.50 that can be customized for an additional cost. Wallypop also offers AIOs that start at $14.50 and can be customized as well. While I do not have any personal experience using Wallypop products, I love the mission of the company. One of my Formula Mom readers will have the chance to win a fitted and fleece cover from Wallypop! If you’re the winner, I would love to hear about your experience! Check out today’s giveaway for your chance to enter to win!
When I first found out I was pregnant and started researching cloth diapers, I also started entering blog giveaways. Early on, I won a set of two Comfy Rumps. I was thrilled when they arrived because one was orange. As with our Kawaiis, we have struggled with leaks when using our Comfy Rumps. Ours are from last year though and I believe they have gone through some design changes.
Comfy Rumps offers a variety of solid colored diapers and prints. The solid colors are $7.25 and the prints are $7.50. They currently offer 8 different solids and 3 prints. Comfy Rumps also offers two other lines (which did not exist back when I won, so there have been some changes). The Fuzzy Wuzzy line is a line of minky diapers available in 4 solid colors for $7.75 each. They also have the Animal Print Fuzzy Wuzzy collection that includes 5 animal prints. The animal prints cost $8 each. All Comfy Rump diapers are made with snap closures and come with one microfiber insert.
Comfy Rumps is running a promotion right now. If you purchase 15 diapers, you will get 3 diapers, 3 soakers, and 1 wet bag for free. If you’re interested in Comfy Rumps, it could be a nice way for you to get some extra goodies!
GoGreen Pocket Diapers
I do not have personal experience with GoGreen but would love to hear from anyone who has tried these diapers! I am not reviewing them in any way as I have not had any personal experience. I am simply passing on the information!
GoGreen offers pocket diapers from $9.99 to $14.95. Additional inserts are available for $2.99 each or in larger packs to save a little money! GoGreen offers their new Champ 2.0 ($14.95), solid colors ($9.99), prints ($9.99), and fuzzy ($9.99) diapers! GoGreen diapers all feature snaps, so they are not for the hook and loop fans. But if you’re looking for variety, GoGreen may be the one for you! They also offer a variety of cloth diapering accessories as well.
Sweet Doll Baby/Nubunz
I do not have personal experience with Sweet Doll Baby/Nubunz but would love to hear from anyone who has tried these diapers! I am not reviewing them in any way as I have not had any personal experience. I am simply passing on the information as I have seen them mentioned a few times on message boards where I am a member.
Sweet Doll Baby/Nubunz offers pocket diapers at very low prices as they are currently running an End of Revision sale as they prepare to stock the new revision of their diapers. Diapers with inserts can currently be purchased for $4 – $5 with inserts and for $2 without inserts. Some of these are seconds but some are just the remainder of the line. Quantities are limited so if you’re interested, I would check them out soon. Most of the remaining diapers that are in stock are velcro, but there are a few snaps. If anyone does try these, I would love to hear what you thought of a diaper that is available at such a rock bottom price.
