I doubt I’m alone in one of my most recent parenting challenges — the sippy cup! I never imagined that it would be so difficult to find sippy cups that didn’t just let my dear son pour his milk and water all over the floor at every single meal and snack. So many sippy cups claim to be spill-proof but I quickly learned that my definitely of spill-proof isn’t the same as some sippy cup makers. I was lucky enough to have discovered one brand of cups that worked well for us, but I was still on a quest. Recently I discovered a second brand that has proven to be able to stand up to my 16-month old whirlwind!

We Don’t Have to Wear Raincoats at Mealtime with Tommee Tippee Explora Li’l Sippees cups!

The Tommee Tippee Explora Li’l Sippees Spill-Proof Sipper Cups are designed for leak proof, bite free sipping. The cups come in a variety of colors, including the red and blue set we received. I love the bright primary colors and prefer them to many of the cups that come with dinosaur or car prints for boys. All of the Li’l Sippees cups and Closer to Nature bottles have interchangeable lids and handles. We used Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles when W was young so I like this feature a lot.

The first thing I did after opening the sippy cups is put them through the test that has become the one that quickly lets me know if a cup will work for us or not. It’s not very complicated at all, but quickly lets me know if I will be cleaning up puddles anytime W uses the cup. I filled one with water, turned it upside down, and shook it. No leaks!

I knew that the cups would probably work well for us after that test, but I did have to let W try the cups. Some sippy cups require the child to bite on the spout to get a drink and he hasn’t quite mastered the ability to do that. I did drink from the cup and didn’t have to bite on the spout so I hoped he would be able to drink from it with ease and he did! W had no trouble drinking from the Tommee Tippee cups and we haven’t had any leaks when he’s using them!
