Travel Bucket List Ideas is a partnered post with Hurtigruten Cruises. All opnions are my own and I cannot wait to get a chance to visit Norway!
J and I love to make lists of the places we want to visit once the kids are older or grown. While we have plenty of trips already planned for these days with young kids, there are places we want to go in our later years. We always seem to have plenty of travel bucket list ideas!
Travel Bucket List Ideas: Norway’s Northern Lights
One thing that has been on my list for as long as I can remember are the Northern Lights. The photos of them never fail to take my breath away. I think it would be an amazing thing to experience with my husband. Seems like it has the potential to be a magical trip full of memories with just the two of us. We haven’t had that since our honeymoon!
So the Northern Lights is definitely part of my travel bucket list ideas. And I recently discovered just how I want to see them! I would love to go to Norway and cross the Arctic Circle to see the Northern Lights on a Hurtigruten cruise!
So far I’ve only spent time on a docked cruise ship and never sailed on one. We plan to change that in the next few years, but I think that a Hurtigruten cruise sounds like an amazing way to sail.
Winter is an amazing time to explore the breathtaking scenery of Norway. On a Hurtigruten cruise you can go on mini expeditions like husky sled adventures and snow mobile trips into the frozen landscape to explore the Arctic wilderness. It sounds absolutely amazing to me.
I think this trip has moved itself closer to the top of my bucket list. I’m thinking it’s a top three now!
Hurtigruten offers a variety of winter packages to help you cross exploring Norwegian culture off of your travel bucket list! They offer six day, seven day, and twelve day trips that cross the Arctic Circle to hopefully see the Northern Lights.
You can also see the famous Nidaros Cathedral, visit the capital of the Arctic, see the majestic Seven Sisters mountains, and sail through stunning Lofoten Islands and the local fishing villages!
Visit the Hurtigruten website to learn even more! And I think you’ll be adding this adventure to your travel bucket list ideas like we did!
