Tune-in to Hallmark Channel’s “A Nutcracker Christmas”
It’s holiday movie season! This year I’m thrilled because my kids finally seem to be interested in watching some of them with me! I have been collecting holiday movies on DVD for a few years to start the tradition of having a basket of holiday movies sitting out all month long. Until this year, neither of my kids was interested in sticking with me for more than a few minutes.
So this year is the year of new Christmas traditions for us! We have a collection of DVDs but I’m also thankful for all of the great holiday movies on television this time of year.
On Saturday, December 10th at 8pm ET/7pm CT, I’m looking forward to checking out “A Nutcracker Christmas” on Hallmark Channel. It’s the latest original movie from Hallmark Channel!
I have to admit that I’m excited to see the movie (and I’ll be tweeting live while watching so be sure to follow me @thesimpleparent on Twitter that night) because it stars Amy Acker (“Person of Interest”), Sascha Radetsky (“Flesh and Bone”), and Sophia Lucia (“So You Think You Can Dance,” “Dance Moms”). What a great cast!
About “A Nutcracker Christmas”
In “A Nutcracker Christmas,” rising star Lilly James (Acker) lives and breathes ballet. Her sister, Beth, is not only her biggest fan but often forgoes her own needs to make sure Lilly has every opportunity possible. Lilly’s devotion pays off when she is accepted into the New York City Ballet. Her biggest dream comes true when she lands the lead role of Clara in The Nutcracker and will make her debut on Christmas Eve.
As she prepares for her big night, she receives the tragic news that her sister has died. She is removed from the show by none other than Mark (Radetsky), her boyfriend and dance partner. Betrayed and heartbroken, she vows never to dance again. Years later, Lilly’s niece (Lucia) receives the same Christmas wish, the role of Clara in the prestigious Philadelphia Nutcracker Ballet, only to find that the Ballet Director is Mark, who betrayed Lilly years ago. Will Lilly see the truth about her past, and allow herself a second chance to dance and another chance to find love?
