Grambo recently got a new car and opted for a smaller vehicle because she wanted to spend less and wanted good gas mileage on her drive to work. I can definitely see the appeal of a smaller vehicle so I was thrilled to have the chance to put the Mitsubishi Mirage through the family test for a week!
Zipping Around in the Mitsubishi Mirage
One thing I love about smaller cars is how easy it is to zip around town. They are great for jumping in and running errands. It’s always so easy to find a parking spot too!
The Mitsubishi Mirage is a subcompact car that starts at $12,995, seats five, and gets a combined 40 MPG combined city/highway. It’s one of the most fuel-efficient gas-powered vehicles available!
The Mirage comes with a 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. Mitsubishi also includes a 5-year/60,000-mile fully transferable New Vehicle Basic Limited Warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty on the restraint system, a 7-year/100,000-mile Anti-Corrosion/Perforation Limited Warranty, and 5-years/unlimited miles Roadside Assistance. So there are some great options available!
Favorite Features of the Mitsubishi Mirage
While the size of the Mirage isn’t great for my family of three adults and two kids in car seats to all travel together, the car has some great features I loved including:
- Fast-Key Entry System
- One Touch Start/Stop Engine Switch
- Steering Wheel Radio Controls
- Touchscreen Entertainment with Navigation
- Gas Tank Release Inside Vehicle
- LATCH Car Seat System
- Open Trunk Without Key
- Back Up Camera
One thing I will always have in my vehicles is a back up camera. No matter how big or small a car is, I’m glad this is a safety feature that is now available on almost every vehicle these days.
I love it on my van and I loved it while driving the Mitsubishi Mirage!
While the Mirage was a great car for running out to Target with Grambo, with two car seats we wouldn’t have been able to fit five of us all together.
The Stroller Test
As a busy mom with two kids, one of the most important tests for every car we drive is the stroller test. We have to have a stroller with us and I prefer to just keep on in the car. Unfortunately, with the Mirage we couldn’t fit even out smallest umbrella stroller in the back!
Other than that, I think the Mitsubishi Mirage is a great little car for commuting to work or even for a high school or college aged kid!
Leave me a comment and tell me about features of the Mitsubishi Mirage you like best!
