Easy After School Snacks They’ll Love
If your days are anything like ours, food seems to be an important part of them. My kids are always asking for snacks, especially after a long day at school. So I always feel like I’m on a quest to find easy after school snacks that I feel good about and they enjoy! Sometimes it seems like a challenge and other times I know I’ve got everything under control. That’s parenting, right?
I look for the same thing when I’m packing their lunches too. You know I’m all about convenience but I also have to look for snacks and lunch items that my kids will eat. Otherwise I’m just wasting my time and money, right?
Luckily for me, I have a few basics I can depend on. Mixing and matching them makes for super easy after school snacks around our house!
Cheese and Pretzels
One of the easiest snacks I can put together in our house is cheese and crackers. I do change it up with different crackers and different types of cheese. The kids currently love string cheese paired with pretzels! It’s an easy after school snack combo that I can always count on!
Disney® Frozen String Cheese and individually wrapped cheese slices are also the current must-have on our grocery list. Carrigan loves all things Disney® so snack time often takes on a Disney® theme! Thankfully, we can find our favorite Disney® Frozen String Cheese at our local Target and Walmart stores!
Cheese and Veggies
There are a few things I love about Disney® Frozen String Cheese and individually wrapped cheese slices. They are made with milk and a good source of calcium and protein. That makes them snacks that I feel good about giving my kids. They’re a healthy and responsible choice for kids! Plus they’re easy to take with us on the go or put in lunches!
They also pair great with some of the vegetables that my kids are willing to eat for snacks. Cherry or grape tomatoes paired with cheese is one of their favorites right now. I also pair the cheese with carrot sticks, cucumber slices, and sometimes cauliflower.
We often pair with fruit too! Apple slices are a kid favorite but I also do grapes and pear slices!
If you’re a busy parent, you know easy after school snacks can make the rest of the day go so much smoother. I also love sitting down with my kids and spending snack time with them after a day apart.
If you’re looking for activities to do with your kids after snack time, check out www.cheeseadventures.com and plan your own cheese adventures! You can also get a $1 off coupon for Disney® Frozen String Cheese (expires 1/15/2017) so you can save while you stock up!
The key to easy after school snacks that your kids will love is keeping it simple. Focus on things you know they like to eat and things you feel good about letting them eat. That’s one reason cheese is pretty much a perfect snack for my family. The kids love it and it’s so convenient for me! It’s a win for everyone!
So if you’re packing lunches for the kids and need something easy to add in some more nutrition or if you need an easy after school snack, Disney® Frozen String Cheese is a great solution. And if you’re on the go all the time like our family is, they’re great because you can grab them and drop them in your purse or bag you use for the kids, and go!.
