This Homemade Holiday Applesauce Recipe is a post sponsored by Acorn Influence and is 100% my own opinions.
November is here which means it’s time for holidays, family and food! Smells from the heart of the house drift everywhere and even my furry babies, Toby and Sebastian, sniff in gratitude. Cousins, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, and grandparents all gather around the table to taste the delicious spread. This Thanksgiving, my favorite homemade holiday applesauce recipe will be a part of our feast!
The grandkids are especially fond of the applesauce and they like to help me make it. I’m experimenting this year with my recipe to modernize how I create it and the Holiday Box from Acorn Influence provided the inspiration!

Homemade Holiday Applesauce Recipe
Apples and pumpkins are some of my favorite things about fall so for this holiday applesauce recipe, I took my usual applesauce recipe and added a few ingredients to make it just perfect for fall!
What You Need:
- 3 apples
- 1/4 cup Pumpkin Pie filling
- 1/3 cup fresh cranberries
- 2 slices lemon peel
- 1/2 tsp Allspice seasoning
- 1/2 cup sugar
What You Do:
Using a blender to make the holiday applesauce recipe instead of the old-fashioned way of peeling and mashing the apples saves so much time and energy!
- Core the apples and cut into chunks.
- Add to large saucepan with a few inches of water.
- Add of few strips of lemon peel to really enhance the flavor of the apples.
- Add the cranberries.
- Bring to a boil, then turn on low and continue to cook until the apples are fork-tender.
- Drain and pour half of mixture into blender.
- Add the pumpkin pie filling, sugar and Allspice.
- Blend for 25 seconds.
- Add the rest of apple/cranberry mixture.
- Blend again for 10-15 seconds.
Makes 4 4-oz. servings.
How to Make It Easier
There were a few items from my Acorn Holiday Box that made our holiday applesauce recipe prep even easier this year!
The Nutri Ninja Auto IQ made the process so quick and easy! It combines all the features of a nutrient extractor (I was able to use the whole apple and not waste any of it’s juicy goodness) and a high-performance blender. My applesauce has never been this smooth and creamy before. The unique combination of Ninja blades, high-torque motor and high speed helped me give my recipe a face-lift! It’s available at Walmart and Walmart.com.
Cutting up the apples has always been a major part of making applesauce. Lots of sweat has been shed over the years! This year I used the Chicago Cutlery Knife Set to make this step super easy. We definitely needed some new knives!
I like to make the applesauce a few days before Thanksgiving so the flavors have time to really blend and so I am not pressed for time as the day draws near. The Rubbermaid 5-cup Premier Food Storage container is perfect for this because it resists stains and odors and the lid seals so nice and tight that I don’t have to worry about spilling.
Labeled with some washi tape and the Sharpie Extreme Marker Set and we were ready to go! The Sharpie Extreme markers resist fading when exposed to UV rays, rain, snow, and even mud so they are also great for use on outdoor items. They can be used on most surfaces, including plastic, glass and wood.
After all the hard work of making my Homemade Holiday Applesauce recipe, it’s time to relax!
Throughout my life, a nice cup of hot tea has been my go-to for down-time. Wrapping my hands around the warmth of the cup brings back warm and fuzzy memories of my childhood and times spent with my mother. Tea from the Signature Tea Company fits the bill perfectly and you can get it at Walmart. The only hard part is choosing which flavor but I love the peppermint this time of year!
All of the products in my Acorn Box this are available at Walmart and the Sharpies are also available at Target, Office Depot and Office Max. And all I can say is that I’m thankful for this month’s box!
