Although I didn’t talk a lot about my pregnancy details over the past year, you may know that I was pregnant with a little girl. J and I always wanted to have a boy and a girl so we were thrilled when we found out earlier this year that we were having a girl. This pregnancy was a bit more challenging for me physically than W’s pregnancy.
I had so many of the old wives tales symptoms for a girl. And I also had a toddler to chase around which is exhausting on it’s own. Although I was due in November, I felt that I would have an October baby. So when October came and went, I had to admit that it was my wishful thinking.
Introducing Our Bundle of Joy
W was born a week before his due date, so I thought our little girl would be similar. When my due date on November 7th came and went, I started to wonder when this little girl would make her debut. A few days later, I went into labor on November 9th and baby C made her debut just after midnight on Sunday, November 10th.
She shares a birthday with J’s mother and I like to think that I gave Grammy the best birthday present ever! I would like to see someone top that birthday present!
But seriously, we adore C and cannot imagine our lives without her. It’s been an adjustment as we get used to having a newborn around the house again.
W is a huge fan of his little sister although I’m pretty sure he’s wondering when she will be big enough to play with him. He doesn’t really care to help out with her, but he loves to give her kisses. I think they will grow up to be great friends and I feel so blessed to have such a happy and healthy family!
C is three weeks old today! She sleeps well at night although we do have some fussy times in the evenings. Breastfeeding is going much better than it ever did with W. We are using some formula to supplement so I could get some sleep after having lost a lot of blood after delivery. But my midwives were spectacular and I’m feeling good these days!
I look forward to celebrating the holiday season with my son and daughter!
