Sometimes we can’t be with our kids to give them kisses when they need them. Now that W goes to preschool twice a week, I know that there are times when he probably needs a kiss but I’m not there. But Valentine’s Day is the perfect reason to make some kid friendly valentine crafts including this Bucket of Kisses so he can have a kiss with him every single day!
Kid Friendly Valentine Crafts: Bucket of Kisses
You can make this Bucket of Kisses for your child or with your child. The story behind it is the fun part and you will be able to let your child know that they will never run out of kisses!
This is easy to make and you can find all of the supplies (colors may vary) at your local dollar store or craft store!
What you need:
- Small metal bucket
- Ribbon of your choice
- Foam hearts
- Craft glue
What you do:
- Attach some ribbon to the handle of your bucket. Just cut, wrap, and tie in a simple bow.
- Fill the bucket with foam hearts. You can use as few or as many as you wish. Before you add the hearts, give each one a kiss before dropping it in.
- Add a heart to the front of the bucket for embellishment. Just add a dab of glue and press to the front of the bucket. Hold in place until dry. If your store carries the foam sticker hearts, you can just stick one to the front as well!
To use your bucket full of kisses, give the bucket to your child and explain how your kiss is on each heart. When they feel sad or need an extra smooch, all they need to do is take a heart and hold it to their hand or cheek. They will feel your love and hopefully be soothed.
W likes to tuck a heart into his backpack some mornings on school days. And sometimes I like to put one in his lunch box. It’s like a little secret message between the two of us.
I have a feeling our bucket of kisses will stay around a lot longer than Valentine’s Day!
