Little Tikes Kitchen Helps Toddlers Cook n’ Grow
I had been wanting to get W a kitchen for quite some time. We like to give him the opportunity to engage in all kinds of pretend play. Plus, having a huge variety of fake food is great for building his vocabulary. I’m pretty sure he learned the word egg after bringing me the play egg a few times. When we had a chance to try a Little Tikes Kitchen, I was thrilled.
The Little Tikes Cook ‘n Grow kitchen first caught my eye because it has two height settings. When J put it together he built it open like you see in the photo. This is a great height for toddlers. As W continues to grow, we will be able to move the two red side pieces together and put the gray sink and oven on the top. This will make a taller and more compact kitchen for W when he’s preschool age!
Any toy that can grow with my child means that we get better value for our money. I am a huge fan of that!
Cook ‘n Grow Kitchen Feels Like Home
I’ll admit that I first fell in love with the color of the Little Tikes Cook ‘n Grow Kitchen. I love that it is gender neutral without being pastel! But then I started noticing all of the little details. The faucet is modern looking and very similar to our kitchen faucet. There is even a tile backsplash design to match ours!
But before I get going on all of the great details, I should mention that it was easy for J to put together as well. It only took him about ten minutes and that included a hunt for batteries. Yes, 2 AA batteries are needed for the electronic cooking sounds to work.
The burner on the left side is the one that requires batteries. When you place a pot on the burner, you hear the sound of boiling water. W loves making the burner work! The frying pan that comes with the kitchen also works on this burner. So W can fry up some eggs while J makes pancakes in the kitchen!
The oven, refrigerator, and microwave doors all open on the Cook ‘n Grow kitchen. And the knobs all turn. Apparently my son is learning to match the food on the stickers with what goes inside! I was surprised to find his turkey from another set of play food in the oven! He’s just getting ready for Thanksgiving, I guess!
Hmm… wonder if I can put him to work in my real kitchen! Maybe not. I’m not quite that desperate yet.
Little Tikes Kitchen is Toddler Approved
W is a huge fan of the Cook ‘n Grow kitchen. He enjoys setting out the plates and silverware that came with the kitchen. Sometimes he’ll even serve up some food. He also loves open all of the doors and filling the oven, microwave, and refrigerator with his cars. It can be a challenge to keep track of all of the parts that came with the kitchen though! We seem to have dishes and food everywhere! But I love that over 50 accessories were included with the Little Tikes Kitchen!
With all of the extra pieces, you don’t have to worry about running out to buy play food or dishes. You have everything you need for your child to start playing. That makes it a great gift idea! If giving it as a gift, I would include some AA batteries or be sure to have some on hand so you can get the full experience!
