How to Make a Photo Book with Shutterfly Photo Story App
I confess. I’m one of those moms. I love to take photos. I had dreams of showcasing them all over my home. Yet, they live on my hard drive. Before W was born, I did a good job of making an annual family photo book so we could remember all of our adventures through the years. After he was born, I even completed my photo book that had a photo from each day of W’s first year of life.
And then I fell down on the job.
I just don’t have as much time to upload my photos and work on photo books as I did before I was a mom.
Recently I downloaded the Shutterfly Photo Story App for my iPad and now I can make photo books in bed! (And, I did while laying down with W.)
I am all about trying free apps and the thought that I could put together some of our family memories in my free moments. Most of my free moments come during nap time these days. But there is a catch. W only naps well if I’m nearby. So being able to use an app on my iPad is definitely ideal.
So I loaded the app, logged in to my Shutterfly account, and chose a book design.
Then I discovered my favorite feature of the app.
I can pull photos from my Shutterfly account, my Facebook account, and… my Instagram account. YES! I was thrilled. Maybe a bit too excited, to be honest. I have always wanted an easy way to turn some of my Instagram photos into something that we could look at without having to log onto a computer or other device.
And that is how I fell in love with the Shutterfly Photo Story App. I was able to lay in bed one night and do the entire book layout with Instagram photos. I worked on my book both online and offline. And when I was done, I was able to order my 8×8 book right from the app!
Oh, and if I wanted to add sound, the app lets you add 30 second audio messages to each page!
And when my hardcover book arrived in the mail a few days ago, I fell in love all over again. I have a feeling I’ll be putting the app to good use and get caught up on all my photo projects!
