The dotmine philosophy is a simple one. dotmine aims to create fashionable, functional ,and affordable day planners that help individuals and families organize their busy lives. For each planner, the designers begin with great artwork that ranges from fun to funky to elegant. Then they arrange the content to best serve the target audience whether it be a family or a student or even a working professional.
The dotmine line of planners features the time.mine which includes academic organizing tools for the teen/young adult professional. It has grown from a line that included 2 cover designs to include 9 cover choices! Also available is the family_time.mine which features a fashionable cover combined with a unique planning system. It is also available in 9 different covers. The final planner in the dotmine line is the life_time.mine which is a great agenda tool for the working professional.
I had the opportunity to use the life_time.mine in Granny Smith. I really like the high quality of the cover because I know the planner will last through the entire 17 months (August through December).
All dotmine planners span 17 months which includes the entire year and the entire school year.
This is perfect for me as a teacher because it allows me to use the planner for a variety of uses. I can use it to plan my blog posts and blog events while also using it to write down important school dates!
I am a fan of anything with a polka dot design so when I opened up the planner I was thrilled by the design on the inside cover. It coordinates well with the color of the cover and I enjoy the bright, fun print. It is definitely a great modern design. The planner also closes with a durable elastic closure that keeps everything in its place which is wonderful because I have a habit of stuffing extra little notes in my planner! You can also use the band to mark the area of the planner you are in and I can see myself using it more to do that as we get deeper into the year.
One of my favorite features of the dotmine planner is the monthly page. I currently use it to plan out the month on Formula Mom. I am able to sketch out my weekly posts as well as plan out my events. Now that the school year has started, I also plan to use it for school related dates so I have everything written in one place instead of dragging around multiple planners. Each monthly overview page also features a few lines at the bottom for any extra notes you may need to include.
A great feature of this planner is that each page is perforated about two inches in from the edge of the page. This allows you to tear off the edge of the page to mark that you are past that point or, in my case, have an extra scrap of paper to make a list of things I need to do such as grocery shopping or writing down an email address!
In addition to the monthly calendar, the following pages feature a box for each day of the month. Each page is extremely generous with the amount of space you have to take notes. Each page also features a side column for additional note taking space.
In addition to the monthly and weekly pages, the planner features a page in the front of the planner with the annual calendar for the current year and the next two years which I find good for finding out which day of the week birthdays find on over the next few years. In the back of the planner there is extra pages for taking notes, spaces for listing phone numbers for a variety of people and locations, as well as a weekly schedule page. I also enjoy the quotes included at the botton of each weekly page. So far, my favorite for August has been “Change isn’t good or bad. It just is” by Donald Draper. I’m really trying to think of change in life that way at this point in my life.
dotmine planners can be purchased through their website as well as on Amazon. The planners range in price from $13.99 to $21.99.
