Fall means it’s time to get crafty around here! The holiday season is the perfect excuse for doing cute projects with W. We picked up some craft foam pumpkin shapes the other day and he couldn’t wait to turn them into Jack-o’-Lanterns! We did a little digging in our craft supplies and found plenty of supplies to add some personality to the pumpkins with this easy sequin pumpkin craft!
Easy Sequin Pumpkin Craft
The great thing about finding these craft foam pumpkins is that they are so versatile! We found ours at Target but I’ve seen them at our craft stores too. We can decorate pumpkins with any of our extra craft supplies. We actually have a bunch of pom-poms and glitter that we might use next. I just have to figure out if I’m ready for the mess that is glitter. We might paint a few too! We got ten pumpkins in the package so we have plenty to decorate!
What you need:
- Craft foam pumpkin shapes (or cut your own pumpkins out of regular sheets of craft foam)
- Googly eyes
What you do:
- Glue two eyes on your pumpkin. It’s best to start with the eyes so you know how much room you have to use the sequins.
- Using the glue, plan out where the sequins will go. If you’re going to do lines, do a glue line then place all the sequins on. If you’re going to do dots or another design, draw it in glue and then add all the sequins.
- Have fun!
And it’s really that easy to make a cute little pumpkin! This is the one I made obviously but the great thing is that once the eyes are on, you can let the kids have the freedom to get creative! It’s really an open-ended activity that helps get in the spirit of Halloween and uses up your extra craft supplies! I actually want to try to do something with washi tape next but I don’t know if it’s quite as kid-friendly so I might do it after W goes to bed!
How would you decorate you pumpkin?
