November is all about the turkey, right? I love making cute little turkeys to decorate the house as we get closer to Thanksgiving. And Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids are some of my favorite turkeys to make! Check out the super easy (and affordable) Turkey Treat Bag we made!
Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids: Turkey Treat Bag
We have quite a bit of craft foam and I never know what to do with it. So when the idea of turkey feathers came to mind, I was on top of it! I debated using a paper plate for the turkey body but we’ve already done that. So we changed it up a bit and got some little tote bags to turn into turkeys!
What you need:
- Orange mini tote bag
- Package of craft foam
- Googly eyes
We were able to find all of our supplies at the dollar store making this an extremely affordable project too!
What you do:
- Create your turkey’s face by adding some glue to the back of your googly eyes and pressing them onto the front of the bag.
- Cut a triangle out of the orange foam and a squiggle from the red. Glue both pieces onto the bag below the eyes. And then you have a beak and gobbler!
- Cut a leaf shape out of each color of craft foam to be the feathers. Glue them in a semi-circle above the eyes.
- Let dry and fill with treats!
It’s simple to make and is definitely a fun addition to the Thanksgiving festivities! You could use them for the kids coming to your house for the big meal. Or help your child collect things they are thankful for and put them in the bag!
