When it comes to Easter, I love getting crafty with the kids. I think it’s because of the bright spring colors that come out around this time of year. And it might be that I’m always looking for easy ways to use all of the washi tape I’ve been collecting. This Washi Tape Easter Egg craft is easy to make! You can make it with the kids or on your own to decorate the house!
Washi Tape Easter Egg Craft
The kids love to buy foam shapes when we go to the craft store. Weston likes to sort them, lay them all around the house, and color on them. So we’ve had some craft foam eggs laying around for quite a while. And when Weston wanted to make Easter decorations, I knew exactly where to start!
If you’re looking for an easy craft idea that isn’t too messy, you’ve found it!
What You Need:
- Craft foam egg shapes (you can get them at your local craft store or dollar store or on Amazon using my affiliate link)
- Washi tape (also available at craft stores or on Amazon with my affiliate link)
What You Do:
- Choose your egg.
- Tear small pieces of washi tape.
- Layer pieces of tape onto the egg. If tape overlaps the edge of the shape, just fold it over and press to stick.
If you are making this craft with younger kids, you can tear the tape for them. You can do rows of different tapes like we did. Or you can do more of a collage look and just press different small pieces of washi tape all over the foam shape.
Either way makes for an adorable (and easy!) Easter craft!
Display these around the house or write on the back and use as an Easter gift for grandparents! You could even punch a hole at the top of each egg and string them on some ribbon to make a decorative banner for your mantel or other area of the house!
So cute and so easy! I’m in love with ours!
