2drops of orange flavoring or 1 drop Orange Essential Oil
Instructions
Beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on low speed.
Add 2 cups of powdered sugar to the mixer and continue to beat at a medium speed until the combination of butter and powdered sugar forms small pebbles.
Add the heavy cream and orange flavoring or orange essential oil. Beat with mixer to incorporate all ingredients.
Check to see if the frosting can stand in stiff peaks. If it cannot, continue to add powdered sugar and mix well until the frosting can stand in the stiff peaks.
Separate the frosting in half. Keep one half as white.
Add orange food coloring to the second half. Stir to ensure the color is bright and vivid.
If you are using a pastry bag or a zip lock bag (with the corner cut) add the white frosting on one side of the bag and then add the orange frosting to the other side. Test to ensure that both colors come out of the tip at the same time.
When both colors of the frosting show when squeezing your bag, start frosting your cupcakes!
