I have to admit that this is my favorite time of the year. I love the weeks leading up to Christmas so when I started seeing decorations pop up around our area, I was thrilled. That means it’s time to start decorating! I love a mix of homemade and store bought decorations. But when it comes to homemade I like it to be easy so this year I have twelve easy ideas for DIY Christmas Ornaments!

12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments: Scrap Paper Ornament

All you need to get started on the 12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments is a set of twelve clear ornaments. I usually opt for the plastic ones since I like to make these with the kids. You can often find them at the dollar store but my local craft stores always have plenty of clear ornaments too.

    What you need:

    • Clear ornament
    • Assorted scrap book paper
    • Scissors
    • Ribbon for hanging

    What you do:

    1. Tear or cut your scrap paper into ¼ inch strips.
    2. Push the strips into the ornaments. Make sure you place them so the pattern is showing on the outside.
    3. Replace the hook and tie with ribbon for hanging.

This is a great way to use any extra scrapbook paper you might have laying around. Or you can pick up paper in your favorite designs. We actually picked out some new paper when we were at the craft store last week because it was on sale!

These are also cute ideas for the kids to make to give as gifts. With so many different scrapbook paper designs out there, you can customize them for anyone!

What kind of paper would you use in your DIY Christmas ornaments?

Be sure to check out all of the 12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments to find one that you love!
