When we were out shopping the other night, I spotted a cool set of ornaments in a store. Some of them had feathers in them and some had flowers in them. It was inspiration for today’s ornament idea in the 12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments. And if you didn’t check out yesterday’s ornament, be sure to see how easy it is to make a Mustache Ornament!
12 Days of DIY Christmas Ornaments: Silk Flower Ornament
I am a huge fan of nature and the great outdoors so the ornaments we saw with feathers and flowers inside of them really inspired us. This silk flower ornament is a fun way to bring a little bit of the outside in to celebrate. It’s also a very versatile ornament idea because you can choose any type of flower and any colors you like. The purple we have is a fun, whimsical take on it. I love it for a child’s tree!
What you need:
- Clear ornament
- Assorted silk flowers
- Scissors
- Ribbon for hanging
What you do:
- Remove your silk flower from the stem. You may need to snip off the plastic piece underneath it as well, or it may not fit in the ornament.
- Push the flowers into the ornaments. Use a pencil to adjust them as needed.
- Replace the hook and tie with ribbon for hanging.
What color flowers would you get for your ornaments?
