If you have young kids, you know that they are busy. Mine barely stop until they pass out to sleep. So I’m always trying to change it up and find new active play ideas for kids so they don’t just tear my house apart! We go outside every chance we get and here are some of the easy things we do!

Active play ideas for kids are essential in raising healthy kids! Play doesn't have to be complicated to be beneficial physically. Check out these easy ideas and get your kids moving!

Quick Active Play Ideas for Kids

My kids love to just run and play in the backyard but sometimes I like to change it up a bit or add in a little extra fun to get them moving even more!

    Go on a Scavenger Hunt

This doesn’t have to be complicated. Head outside with the kids and go on a search for as many different colored rocks as you can find. Or look for leaves of different shapes. No planning ahead needed but plenty of chances to run around and enjoy the outdoors!

    Hit the Playground

It’s simple and classic but always a hit. If you want your kids to get some activity in, then head to a local park with a playground. I spent some time recently climbing stairs and going down slides with the kids so it was great activity for me too!

    Sidewalk Chalk

Sidewalk chalk seems to be a staple in our outdoor play. We can color on different materials and textures. We create cities for toy cars and even a race track so we can pretend we’re race cars driving around. It’s also great for drawing start and finish lines for relay races!

    Walk the Neighborhood

If you don’t want to get too far away from home but still need a change of pace from the backyard, hit the streets! You can take out bikes or just go for a walk together. Getting active doesn’t have to be complicated at all!

    Let the Bubbles Blow

Bubbles are another classic way to get kids having a blast. If you have a bubble blower that blows a lot of bubbles, you’ll get those kids dancing and running around! Plus, they are oh so cute while exploring bubbles.
