    Why Make Carrot Fries?

Carrots are packed with vitamins A and K and provide remarkable health benefits. They enhance vision, support immune function, and promote bone health. Carrots boast a lower calorie count and higher nutritional value than potatoes.

So if youโ€™re craving french fries but looking to make a healthier choice, this recipe is a great option! (Itโ€™s also vegan so it works for a variety of lifestyles too.)

    Ingredients & Equipment

As I mentioned before, the ingredient list for this recipe is super simple! You might have a lot of it in your kitchen and pantry already.

    Youโ€™ll need:

    • Carrots: 1 pound, washed and cut into 1/4 inch fries
    • Olive oil: 1/2 tablespoon to give them that perfect crispness
    • Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon for a hint of flavor
    • Red pepper flakes: 1/2 teaspoon if you like them with a kick
    • Salt and pepper: according to your preference

You can use pre-cut carrot sticks but you want them to be about 1/4 inch thick so you may still need to do some chopping.

You will also need a few pieces of kitchen equipment:

    • Vegetable peeler
    • Chefโ€™s knife
    • Cutting board
    • Mixing bowl
    • Air Fryer

    How to Make Carrot Fries

This recipe makes 4 servings. It takes about 10 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to air fry. So you can have tender carrot fries in about 30 minutes!

To get started, preheat your air fryer to 400ยฐF (if required by your air fryer model).

Peel and wash the carrots. Then cut them into fries that are about 1/4 inch thick. You want them to be as uniform as possible so they cook evenly.
Put the carrot fries in a bowl and toss them with a bit of olive oil so theyโ€™re just coated. Then add the seasonings (garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper) and toss until coated.

Arrange the carrot fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Leave room for the air to circulate around the vegetables, this is how you get crispier fries. You may need to cook in multiple batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

    Leftovers & Storage

Storing and reheating leftover Air Fryer Carrot Fries is a great way to ensure that none of your delicious, healthy snack goes to waste.

To store them, allow the carrot fries to cool down completely after cooking. Then, transfer them to an airtight container or a resealable plastic bag, and place them in the refrigerator. They should keep well for up to 3-4 days.

When youโ€™re ready to reheat and enjoy them again, preheat your air fryer to 350ยฐF. Spread the carrot fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they arenโ€™t overcrowded for even reheating.

Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until they are heated through and regain their crispy texture.

Avoid using a microwave to reheat, as it can make them soggy.
