One of my favorite things to do while preparing for the arrival of my babies was creating their special space. We were lucky enough to have an extra bedroom to turn into a nursery for each of our kids. (Even though they ended up sharing a room with us in the early months.) I loved personalizing a space for them and finding ways to do it creatively. Free baby nursery art printables are one way you can personalize your baby’s room!
Preparing for your baby can seem a bit overwhelming, but you can make it an enjoyable experience with some of our tips. I speak only from my experience! After two kids, I like to think I’ve learned a few things about keeping things simple but making them special too! I had a great time piecing together Carrigan’s room with some mix and match baby nursery ideas.

BABY NURSERY ART PRINTABLES
I know that newborns and infants aren’t concerned with the theme or color of their room. But when I started nesting, it was something I enjoyed doing. I liked making a room feel fresh and new for our newest member of the family.
Now that my kids are older, I still love helping them decorate their rooms. We’ve changed things as they’ve gotten older, but there are a few things I’ve learned that work well from the nursery days through the young child years. I’m hoping they continue to work well as they get even older!
For me, it always starts with an inspiration piece and the artwork is often where I find it.
Free printables are a great way to get artwork on the wall without spending a lot of money. Find some frames that you like and then find printables that make you smile!
The best thing about using printables for artwork is that you can easily change them out if you want a different feel to the room!
You can download our FREE baby room art printables by clicking the link below. All you need is printer paper or cardstock, a printer, and some scissors (these work for 8″ x 10″ photo frames after you trim them down). You’ll have some great artwork in just a few minutes!

While printables are one of my simplest tips for decorating any room (and updating it as the kids get older or your tastes change), there are a few other things you can do to get a great nursery without things getting too complicated.
CHOOSING A BABY NURSERY WALL COLOR
I love choosing paint because it’s one of the easiest ways to make a room feel like a completely different space. There are so many colors that it can be overwhelming. What to choose?
My advice is to go with a neutral color.
It may not seem as fun in the beginning but you’ll be thankful that you’re not having to paint more than once. I wanted to paint Carrigan’s room pink, but opted for a silvery gray. It was a good decision on my part! As her room as changed, it’s been easy to change out artwork, rugs, bedding, and furniture to get a new look.
She recently decided her favorite color is yellow and wants everything pink out of her room. At least, I can pull out all of the accessories and wall art to incorporate her new favorite color without having to paint again!
If you do want to have a pop of color in the room, consider an accent wall or even painting the inside of the closet!
THE NEW BABY’S FURNITURE
When I was pregnant with Weston, I got really excited about picking out his crib. We ended up getting a crib with matching dresser for his nursery. I’ll admit that they cost a bit of money.
I’ll also admit he slept in his crib a total of two times.
So I always tell my mom friends to do a little searching. Buying baby furniture secondhand can be a great way to get amazing pieces at lower prices. When we finally sold Weston’s crib, it was still “like new.” The family we sold it too was over the moon.
You can also look around for deals online. I’m not a huge couponer or anything but I like to do a little researching to see if I can find good deals. This is how I found a gorgeous white crib with great reviews for Carrigan’s room.
She also slept in her crib for two nights.
So don’t be afraid to shop around. You’ll probably find some amazing pieces and since you’ll be hunting for toddler furniture before you know it, why not save some money on the baby nursery?
SAVING MONEY ON BABY BASICS
If you’re looking for other ways to save money on basics your baby needs, there are plenty of ways to get what you need and stay within a budget.
When I was pregnant, I had plans to breastfeed and when that didn’t work out quite as planned, I found myself suddenly needing infant formula as well. It was an expense I hadn’t counted on before so I was willing to do some research and see if there were any ways to save money without sacrificing quality.
Through our experience, I learned that the most important thing is to find what works best for your kids. There are many options available so new moms really do have the ability to choose what works best for their family.
For us, Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Infant Formula at Walmart was a great solution to our combo-feeding schedule. It allowed me to supplement and get my babies what they needed while giving our family the opportunity to save on one of the most basic baby needs.

Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Infant Formula HMO is available exclusively at Walmart and it gives parents the chance to switch from national brands without sacrificing quality.
We were a family that used Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Sensitivity® Infant Formula with both kids. I compared it to the comparable national brands and discovered that Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Infant Formula provides complete nutrition for baby’s first year.
One thing I did need to learn more about was what it meant when it said the Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Sensitivity® Infant Formula and Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Advantage® Infant Formula feature 2’-FL HMO. I was all about being educated and making sure I was making the best decision for my children.
So what does it mean?
It means that the formulas feature a human milk oligosaccharide (HMO). It’s a prebiotic that helps establish beneficial bacteria for immune support. • The oligosaccharide, 2’-fucosyllactose (2′ -FL) is found naturally and is abundant in most mothers’ breast milk. It’s been added to Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Sensitivity® and Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ Advantage® to help baby’s immune system to be more like the immune system of a breastfed baby.
As a mother who was concerned with the fact that I couldn’t breastfeed as much as I would have liked, I loved finding out that Parent’s Choiceâ„¢ featured HMO in their formulas.
If you’re a formula feeding family, you can feel good about your baby getting the nutrition they need while you save compared to the national brands.
