    Chicken Pot Pie with Bisquick

    Bisquick is a pantry staple in my opinion. You can use it for so many different recipes. Some of my favorite quick and easy recipes include Bisquick biscuits and Bisquick banana bread! You can make breakfast, desserts, sides, and even main dishes with it!

    Not only is this dish simple to make, but it’s also picky eater friendly, the buttery Bisquick topping, and the creamy broth middle gives this easy chicken pot pie such an amazing flavor that even the pickiest of kids will enjoy this hearty meal.

    Ingredients for Bisquick Pot Pie

    You will need some basic ingredients as well as a variety of of seasonings to really amp the flavor. You will need the following ingredients:

    • 1 pound chicken breast, cooked and shredded

    • 1 16-ounce bag frozen mixed vegetables

    • 1 10-ounce can cream of chicken soup

    • ½ cup water or milk

    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

    • ½ teaspoon dried thyme

    • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

    • ½ teaspoon onion powder

    • ½ teaspoon black pepper

    • 1 cup Bisquick

    • ½ cup milk

    • 1 egg

    You can tweak your veggies and seasonings to change up the flavor a bit and use this recipe over and over again.

    How to Make Bisquick Chicken Pot Pie

    This recipe makes 6 servings. It takes 20 minutes to prepare and needs about 30 minutes of cook time. Cool for 10 minutes and this one dish meal is ready in about an hour!

    Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a 10-inch baking dish by spraying with nonstick cooking spray.

    Add the cream of chicken soup and water to the baking dish and whisk to combine.

    Add the frozen vegetables and chicken and season with garlic powder, thyme, oregano, and onion powder.

    Mix until all ingredients are coated with the soup.

    In a medium bowl, combine the Bisquick, milk, and egg. Spread the mixture over the top of the chicken mixture in an even layer.

    Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, until crust is golden brown and the vegetable layer is bubbly.

    Allow the chicken pot pie to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

    Can I use leftover rotisserie chicken in this pot pie?

    Yes, you can use leftover rotisserie chicken or any other cooked chicken in this pot pie. I usually poach my chicken but this recipe is always perfect for using leftover turkey or other cooked meats that you need to use up.

    Can I use chicken broth instead of water or milk?

    Certainly, you can use chicken broth. The chicken broth will certainly give your pot pie more flavor than using water. However, it is less creamy than using milk. No matter which option you decide to use your pot pie will still be delicious.

    How do I reheat leftover pot pie?

    You can reheat the leftover pot pie by simply putting it back in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 – 15 minutes or until heated through. You can also microwave your pot pie for 1-2 minutes if you would like to speed up the process.

    How do I store leftover pot pie?

    You can store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 week. I usually just put the leftovers in a ziplock bag and store them in the refrigerator.

    Can I double this Bisquick pot pie recipe?

    Yes, you can easily double this recipe if you would like to make more than one pot pie. Just be sure to use a larger baking dish and adjust the cooking time as needed. Enjoy!

    Can I freeze leftover pot pie?

    Yes, you can easily freeze leftovers in an airtight container. If you storing in a pie plate be sure to wrap the pot pie tightly in plastic wrap and then foil to prevent freezer burn. To reheat you can place it back in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until heated through. No need to thaw it first. Be sure to remove the plastic wrap before adding your pot pie to the oven.
