A few years ago we need a new refrigerator. We have a small kitchen and for the first time, I started looking at getting a counter-depth refrigerator to make the most of the space we have. I was worried that I wouldn’t get all of the features I wanted and needed. Now that we’re in the early planning stages of a kitchen remodel, I’m still looking for counter depth but I’m also looking for even more features.
There are a few reasons to choose a counter-depth fridge and why you can do it with confidence.

CHOOSING A COUNTER-DEPTH REFRIGERATOR
The new Bosch Counter-Depth Refrigerators are a great example of how a counter-depth refrigerator can offer space-saving design with high-tech features. While we’re just starting our appliance planning, there are a few things I look for and the Bosch Counter-Depth fridge line checks off a lot of the must-haves on my list.
DESIGN & CAPACITY
I’ll admit it. I want my refrigerator to look nice. For our updated kitchen I’m looking for clean lines and the Bosch Counter-Depth refrigerators all have a sleek look. This is a freestanding refrigerator that sits flush with the countertop. It features hidden hinges and discreet tucked away feet that give a built-in look and feel.
While I want the shallower depth, I also need it to have the capacity to handle our family of five. The 21 Cu. Ft. capacity is spacious because of flexible storage features like FlexBar™, removable shelves, and door bins.
FlexBar™ creates extra space in the refrigerator. You can use it for items like wine, condiments, eggs, and more.
ORGANIZATION
I’m always trying to figure out the best way to organize the fridge we currently have. So my next one needs to have great organization features.
FlexBar™ is just one of the features of the Counter-Depth Bosch refrigerators that offer options for organizing your family’s needs.
On both sets of doors, there are three wide gallon door bins that can each accommodate two side-by-side gallon containers. This is huge for my family! They also feature 5 tempered glass shelves, 4 of which are adjustable and half-width! That’s flexibility!
Other features that will help me get organized include a three-tier layered freezer drawer system and a full-width chiller drawer. If you’re looking for flexibility inside your refrigerator, Bosch has so much to offer.
FRESH & CLEAN
Another thing I want when it comes to my refrigerator is a water filter that gives me high quality, clean water because I drink a lot of water. One thing I don’t want is a smelly fridge! So clean water and a fresh refrigerator are at the top of my must-haves list.
The Bosch UltraClarityPro™ water filter reduces >99.9% of sediments that may be found in water, including harsh elements like chlorine and chloramine. That’s water I would love to drink.
When it comes to fresh food, Bosch has my attention with their revolutionary FarmFresh System™. It combines four innovative technologies to keep your food fresh up to 3x longer, for less food wasted.* (*As compared to a Bosch refrigerator without FarmFresh System™. Results may vary among different foods.)
If you haven’t heard of the new FarmFresh System™, it uses four innovative freshness technologies:
- VitaFreshPro™ offers preset settings that automatically balance BOTH temperature and humidity
- FreshProtect™absorbs naturally occurring ethylene to slow ripening, so produce stays fresher, longer.
- MultiAirFlow™ evenly circulates cool, fresh air to maintain consistent temperatures throughout the entire fridge cavity, from the door bins to back corners.
- AirFresh® Filter absorbs even the toughest food odors, keeping your refrigerator and freezer air fresh.
Fresh food and fresh air mean I shouldn’t have to battle any refrigerator odors and I love that!
When we’re ready to start our official appliance shopping, the Bosch Counter-Depth Refrigerators will be on my shortlist! If you have any concerns about buying a refrigerator that is counter depth, know that Bosch has your back, combining space, style, and features!
