Ever wondered how to make chicken spaghetti easy? I know it’s a pretty easy recipe but when you go with Crockpot Chicken Spaghetti it’s even easier!
For this recipe, I do cook my spaghetti separately and add it to the end. That’s mostly because if you’re working with timing issues, you don’t want to end up with mush instead of spaghetti! This is one of our family’s favorite meals and is great for busy weeknight and weekends (especially if the weather outside is dreary)!

CROCKPOT CHICKEN SPAGHETTI
Even most picky eaters like spaghetti. Chicken spaghetti takes your basic spaghetti and turns it into a creamy, cheesy plate of delicious!
I’d never really had chicken spaghetti growing up. It just wasn’t something my family ever made. But when I met Justin, I learned that it was one of his favorite meals and my mother-in-law does it well! She bakes hers in the oven but I love a good Crockpot meal so I decided to share this slow cooker version!
If you’re a working parent or you know you’re going to be out of the house all day and still want to get dinner on the table, this recipe is a great one to have on hand!
CROCKPOT CHEESY SPAGHETTI INGREDIENTS
One thing I love about this recipe is that the cream cheese turns it into a creamy chicken spaghetti that definitely has a comfort food feel to it! Oh, and it makes for great leftovers (if you happen to have any)!
The ingredient list is pretty easy. You probably have all of the seasonings already!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 2 jars spaghetti sauce
- 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, cubed
- 2 cups Italian blend shredded cheese
- 2 teaspoons parsley
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 package spaghetti, cooked according to package directions
If you need a slow cooker, I find that I use our 6 Quart Crock-Pot the most. Here are a few things I recommend for making this recipe:
- Crock-Pot 6-Quart Cook & Carry
- Slow Cooker Liners
- Microwave Pasta Cooker (this helps make spaghetti quicker in case you’re really short on time!)

CHICKEN SPAGHETTI RECIPE FAQ
WHAT CAN I SERVE WITH CHICKEN SPAGHETTI?
Some of our favorite foods to serve with this recipe include:
- Green salad
- Green beans
- Steamed broccoli
- Garlic bread, cheesy bread, breadsticks, french bread (I think you know what our favorite side is!)
CAN I MAKE CHICKEN SPAGHETTI WITH VELVEETA?
Yes, and many people do, especially when making it in the Crockpot. If you decide to use Velveeta, I recommend using 1 pound if Velveeta, cubing it, and using it in place of the shredded cheese. If you feel like it needs more liquid, you can use water or chicken stock.
CAN I MAKE THIS CHEESY CHICKEN SPAGHETTI RECIPE WITH ROTEL?
This is another yes. I know a lot of people make chicken spaghetti using Rotel and Velveeta. I like the flavor that the spaghetti sauce gives this recipe, but you can definitely opt for Rotel. Some people use a can of diced tomatoes and a can of green chiles too. It just offers a different flavor from pasta sauce.
If you use Rotel, add a 10 ounce can to the ingredients. I would also add a can of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup to make sure you have enough liquid.
If you happen to have these ingredients hanging around in your pantry like I often do, this is a great substitution!
CAN I ADD MUSHROOMS TO THIS RECIPE?
Of course! I know not everyone is a mushroom fan. I love them but not everyone in our family does so I don’t always put them in. But you can add a can of mushrooms when you put all of the other ingredients in the slow cooker. Just drain it first!
I’ve also been known to add diced onion, a variety of different cheeses, diced bell peppers, and some garlic!
CAN I USE OTHER TYPES OF PASTA TO MAKE CHICKEN SPAGHETTI?
Absolutely! You can make chicken spaghetti with any kind of pasta that you’d like. Since we prep the pasta outside of the slow cooker for this recipe, it’s easy to swap in your favorite! Some options I like are penne, elbows, and fettucini!

Awesome recipe, it’s not because spaghetti is my favorite dish. I repeated dozens of different recipes for spaghetti, for example, spaghetti with meatballs, spaghetti with drunk mushrooms, creamy carbonara with green onions and many others. So, I think I will add this great recipe to my special cookbook.
Many thanks to Mariah.
