Easy Peach Cobbler Cake
Sometimes I want to bake on a whim. It happens a few times a month and that’s when I turn to our pantry! Having a well-stocked pantry can help me get through cravings that pop up but also helps get us through the week with creative, healthy, and homemade meals!
Canned foods are a huge help to me when it comes to feeding my family. And in this recipe, the star is definitely the canned peaches. Canned peaches are one of our pantry staples so I always have them on hand!
Everything else was in our pantry and refrigerator this week too so I was prepared to whip up something delicious without spending hours in the kitchen!
What You Need:
- (2) 15 oz cans of sliced peaches
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
What You Do:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Pour both cans of peaches (with juice) in a 9×13 glass baking dish. You can cut up the peaches into smaller pieces to make them easier to spread over the whole dish.
- Sprinkle cake mix over peaches until all are well covered and you’ve used the entire box of cake mix.
- Cut butter into 16-18 slices and lay on top of cake mix in rows.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the top, covering the entire cake evenly.
- Sprinkle walnuts on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until bubbling.
- Serve warm or cooled.

I’ll admit that I took a few bites before anyone else was home! The kids were sleeping and the house smelled amazing. It reminded me of how comforting the smell of fresh baked goodies can be! So I snuck a bite early and then it was hard to resist eating more! So good!
And canned foods were a huge help in this recipe. They are a great asset in my kitchen for a number of reasons:
- Canning is one of the best ways to lock in nutrients at the peak of ripeness and get it to our dining tables.
- Using canned fruits and vegetables can help you add vitamins and minerals to your meals.
- Cans also help you save on prep time!
- Canned foods are often half the cost of frozen foods and about 15-20% less than buying fresh.
Canned foods are definitely a simple way to make cooking for your family easier!
