Carrigan is starting to really get into wearing crowns, reading books about princesses, and watching some classic princess movies. She got a small tent that looks like a castle for her room and will spend hours in it! She’s still not convinced that she likes wearing princess dresses for more than a few minutes but I think that will happen! This weekend we had fun adding a princess twist on one of our favorite foods with this easy Princess Party Popcorn recipe!
Princess Party Popcorn Recipe
The basic party popcorn recipe is one of my favorites because it’s so easy to make! It’s also so versatile that you can whip up a batch for all kind of occasions!
Since we were getting ready to watch one of our favorite princess movies for the hundredth time, I thought it would be fun to put together a princess version of our favorite party popcorn recipe!
Check out how easy it is!
What You Need:
- 1 bag popped microwave popcorn (you can adjust the amount depending on how many people you’re serving)
- 1 bag vanilla almond bark or white candy melts
- Princess sprinkles
That’s really all you need! Just three ingredients and you can change up the theme just by changing your sprinkles or even the color of the candy melts you use! And since it only takes minutes to make, it’s great for a family afternoon together or your next party! The key to turning our party popcorn recipe into princess popcorn was all in the sprinkles! I found a container that included some icon shapes representing some of the most popular princesses but you could also go with a color scheme to represent each one!
What You Do:
- Pop the popcorn according to the directions on the packaging.
- Pour popcorn into a bowl or spread on a parchment paper covered baking sheet.
- Melt almond bark or candy melts according to the directions on the packaging.
- Drizzle over popcorn until well coated.
- Then mix with your clean hands to make sure popcorn is completely coated with a thin layer.
- Add sprinkles and mix lightly with your hands once more.
- Serve and enjoy!
One of my favorite ways to get the kids involved safely is to let them be in charge of sprinkling the sprinkles in. You don’t want to let them mix the popcorn because the melted almond bark or candy melts can be warm. But they love to shake those sprinkles in! Of course, after you make the princess party popcorn recipe, you have to do the clean up. This seems to be the time when everyone who was helping me scatters. Go figure, right?
But recently, kitchen clean up has gotten easier for me with help from Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers. When I was teaching, I was always a fan of them, but they’re great for use around the house too! The textured wipes are great for stubborn messes, especially melted chocolate on the counter top! I love that they clean and disinfect all at once! They’re also thicker and more absorbant which saves me time and gets me back with my family quicker!
I also love that they are available at Target because we shop there a lot. It’s true. I won’t even try to deny it! You can save 10% right now by using the Target Cartwheel app too! So time saver and money saver! What parent doesn’t want more of those things in their lives?
So get your kitchen clean after you make your party popcorn and kill 99.9% of germs that can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours! Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers are great in the kitchen but can also be used on floors, appliances, and tons of other surfaces.
If you’ve never tried them in the bathroom, I suggest you try it! Huge time saver!
Once everything is cleaned up, be sure to sit down and enjoy your move and party popcorn recipe with the family! Or hit the party if you’re hosting one! The recipe works great for any situation!
