When it comes to Elf on the Shelf ideas, I’m not one for having a naughty elf. Sometimes our elf, Chippy (so creative, I know), gets into some trouble but not every single day. I like to mix up the ideas and one of my favorite things to do in December is have our Elf on the Shelf bring little gifts for the kids! They enjoy looking forward to the little treats he might bring.

Elf on the Shelf Ideas: Princess Dreams

The great thing about having younger kids is that the gifts our elf brings can be really basic. It’s fun to find little treats that fit with both of their interests. Right now C is enjoying board books and has been interested in playing with her Little People Princesses toys. So when I spotted a Princess board book, I knew it would be a great little treat for Chippy to bring.

Oh, and by the way, next year when Chippy arrives he will be bringing a friend (who is a girl but not his girlfriend) to keep an eye on C. But for this year Chippy is doing double duty around our house. But back to the point!

If you have a little girl in your house, then a princess book would be a great gift for your elf to bring.

It’s all about sharing the princess dreams and even an elf dreams of being a princess sometimes, right?

Plus a book is a great gift for any child. We’ve been reading our new book at least three or four times a day since we got it. Even W is enjoying it although he got his own new book as well!

And being able to tell the kids that your elf might bring a little treat if their good is another way to get that elf magic working in your favor this month!

What kind of book would your child like to get from their elf?
