This week I have focused on Elf on the Shelf ideas that are easy to do and can also be done without spending much money. I still don’t think you have to spend much to have your elf come visit and I don’t think he has to get into trouble. But sometimes it can be a little fun to see what he does. Of course, if you have a mischievous elf you might want to be prepared for your child to try to follow in the little elf’s footsteps!

Elf on the Shelf Ideas: Writing Messages on a Mirror with a Window Marker

Elf on the Shelf Ideas: Mirror Mischief

We all hit the bathroom first thing in the morning, right? So what better place to discover a few elf antics. I have seen ideas where elves are taking cotton ball baths in the sink or have brushed their teeth with someone else’s toothbrush. But with a window marker or other easy to remove paint, your elf can also leave a message on the bathroom mirror!

Your elf could draw a picture or write a special message. This could be one way to introduce your elf on the morning of his arrival. Your kids are sure to spot him when they go in to brush their teeth. It’s also sure to wake them up and get them revved up for the month ahead!

Like I mentioned before, just remember that if you do something like this then you should be sure to hide the marker away so little hands don’t decide to create some of their own artwork on all of the mirrors!
