HAROLD AND HOG PRETEND FOR REAL!
Elephant & Piggie Like Reading! is an early-reader series created and coedited by Mo Willems. The series features exciting new stories from renowned, award-winning children’s book authors and illustrators.
Harold &Hog Pretend for Real! is the 6th book in the Elephant & Piggie Like Reading! series. It’s written and illustrated by Dan Santat and is recommended for readers between the ages of 6 and 8. That makes it a great book to share as a family and, in the spirit of Thank-O-Rama, for that we are thankful!
Hog is careful. Harold is not.
Harold cannot help smiling. Hog can.
Hog worries so that Harold does not have to.
Harold and Hog are best friends. But can Harold and Hog’s friendship survive a game of pretending to be Elephant & Piggie?
We had a fun time pretending to be Elephant and Piggie just like Harold & Hog did after we read the book together. I highly recommend it as a book you share together to encourage your kids to read. It’s a fun read even for older readers too! You can check out the whole series for other great books too!

Mo Willems’ annual Thank-o-Rama is a month-long celebration in May derived from the final book in the Elephant & Piggie series, The Thank You Book. It’s a celebration of thanking all, especially children, for being readers.
We’ve been having a good time focusing on the things we’re thankful for in our lives!

We spent some time with our friends Elephant and Piggie, drawing about the things we were thankful for in our lives. Carrigan’s first answer was love. She’s thankful for all the love she gets and all the people she loves. Yes, she melted my heart with that answer!
Thank-O-Rama is just a reminder of the things that are important. One of the most important things for me is spending time with my family. Sitting down to share a good book with my kids is one of my favorite ways to spend time with them. Thanks to Mo Willems, we have so many great books to enjoy together!
