When it comes to kids, it seems like every time I turn around there’s a new mess. They aren’t major but with young kids they are always into something. So what happens when we’re in the car? Sometimes a lot and I’ll admit that it took me a while to figure out how to keep my car clean while traveling with the kids every day. It's easy to keep your car clean even with kids riding in it every day! Check out these easy tips and keep your car clean and fresh without much work!

How to Keep Your Car Clean with Kids

Once I figured out a simple plan of attack, it’s gotten much easier to keep things clean and fresh. So here are the tips I use to make things easier in our car!

    Quick Clean Up

Keep a small kit of quick clean up supplies in your car. I keep antibacterial wipes in the car just in case we have some bigger messes in between cleanings. It’s also great for wiping down the surfaces of the car while we wait in car rider line to pick up Weston at school!

Clean the Car Once a Week

One of the easiest ways to keep your car clean when you have kids is to clean it once a week. It doesn’t have to be a deep cleaning. But if you take the time to pick up any food (yes, we have food bits from time to time), trash, toys, etc then you’ll find that you can go longer between deep cleanings! It's easy to keep your car clean even with kids riding in it every day! Check out these easy tips and keep your car clean and fresh without much work! Although with these two passengers most of the time, I try to stay on top of a regular cleaning schedule!

    Deep Clean Once a Month

At least once a month, take half an hour to get in the car and get it clean. Wipe down the dashboard and other surfaces. Break out the vaccuum to get the crumbs that have dodged the weekly cleaning up. If you’re cleaning it out once a week this deeper clean doesn’t take long at all!

    Carpet Freshener

If you’re dealing with any odors in your car, I highly recommend using some carpet freshener. Buy some or make your own and sprinkle it on your carpet and let sit for about 20 minutes. Then vaccuum it up! It’s easy to add to your monthly deep clean and smells great! It's easy to keep your car clean even with kids riding in it every day! Check out these easy tips and keep your car clean and fresh without much work!

    Air Freshener

Another way to keep things fresh is with an automotive air freshener! And with kids, having one that I can clip almost anywhere is key to keeping little hands away from it! PERK is an innovative brand of automotive air fresheners with a patented clip design that let’s you clip it anywhere! You can clip it on the rearview mirror, the gearshift, or even the headrest! There are endless options! You can even link them together to combine fragrances and colors which is definitely a fun way to personalize freshness in your car! A great variety of PERK fragrances are available, including Golden Vanilla, Carbbean Colada, and New Car! Plus they’re available at Walmart, Target, major grocery store chains, and other places where auto air fresheners are sold! So they are convenient as well!
