This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Quaker Oats for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Now that my kids are getting older, we’re finally able to start doing more fun things together. And so we’ve started having more and more fun with by planning a simple family play date with some of our friends who have kids that are close in age. It’s easy to do and makes for a lot of fun memories! Quaker has asked me to share some easy tips so you can plan your own play date!

Tips for how to plan a family play date! Make it simple! Make it all about family memories!

How to Plan a Family Play Date

If you’re thinking of planning a family play date, don’t get overwhelmed. Keep it simple and some of the best memories will be made! Check out these simple times for planning some fun with your friends!

Tips for how to plan a family play date! Make it simple! Invite 1 or 2 families with kids similar in age to your kids!

    Invite Them

Keep it simple when you make your invite list! You don’t have to invite everyone you know. Just invite one or two of your favorite families with kids. Keep it small! It’s not a party, it’s a fun play date with the kids and a time to make some great memories!

Tips for how to plan a family play date! Make it simple! Have a few fun activities planned!

    A Bit of Fun

Collect a few things from around the house or pick up a few new toys and activities that will keep the kids busy. Games and activities that are geared towards the kids ages but can be enjoyed by both children and adults are best! I love running the bubble blower for my kids while they laugh and try to catch them. Then we’re ready for sidewalk chalk and kicking the ball around!

The activities don’t have to be super structured to be a blast!

Tips for how to plan a family play date! Make it simple! Don't forget the snacks!

    Feed Them

One thing I’ve learned about planning different kinds of play dates is that if you have nothing else, make sure you have snacks! Water bottles, juice pouches, and easy to serve snacks like Quaker® Chewy® Granola Bars always work out well! And I’ve found that both kids and parents seem to enjoy Quaker Chewy Granola Bars! My current favorites are the Big Chewy Sweet & Salty Bars! I love the chocolate and salted caramel variety!

Carrigan is a huge fan of the oatmeal raisin flavor in the Chewy Granola Bars Variety Pack! Quaker Chewy is a perfect, hassle-free snack that provides families with the fuel to keep on playing and sharing the fun together! That makes them a great play date snack option. I also love that the Quaker Chewy Granola Bars contain 8 grams of whole gran in each bar!

And it’s really that simple! If you cover the basics with friends, fun, and food, it’s pretty much given that you will have a great family play date with your friends and family!

Luckily Quaker provided me with a family play date kit like the one I used to host our play date! One lucky reader will win their own so be sure to enter at the bottom of this post! Then you’ll be able to invite your friends and family over and send them home tired but full of smiles.
