How To Train Your Dragon Party Snacks
CELEBRATING WITH HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON PARTY SNACKS
Our family fell in love with the How To Train Your Dragon movies together and when the third movie came out, it was a perfect family movie to see in the theaters! We’ve patiently waited for it to come out so we could add it to our movie library.
We picked up the How To Train Your Dragon 3 Walmart Exclusive DVD Gift Set when we were at Walmart because it includes 2 Funko keychains that are absolutely adorable! Since the last day of school fell just a few days after the release of the DVD, I knew just the thing to plan for the Friday that summer began!
If you’re looking for a great family movie and you haven’t seen it yet, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is a great family movie. It’s a film full of wonderful messages for all of us. I saw the movie before my kids and fell in love with the newest dragon to join the family. I love that Light Fury is a female dragon and that she brings out a different side of Toothless, our favorite dragon. It made me even more excited when I was able to see it again.
When you’re watching with your family, be sure to watch for one of my favorite scenes. When Ruffnut is captured by Grimmel it’s a scene that’s full of some great laughs. While I love all of the dragon action scenes, Ruffnut just gets me every time.
There are also so many great themes and messages that run through all of the How to Train Your Dragon movies, but one of my favorites from the third movie has to do with dealing with things when they feel really hard.
Nothing worth experiencing comes easy.
It’s a hard lesson for us all and one I think we all need to remember.
So whether you’re celebrating the end of the school year, another accomplishment, or just a movie night with your family, we’ve got some dragon party snacks that are simple and add even more fun to the movie!
How to Train Your Dragon apparel and toys are available at Walmart if you’re looking to bring the movie to life. My kids love all of our How to Train Your Dragon toys and our new throw blanket! The blanket is loved by everyone! I just might have to get another one!
EASY DRAGON PARTY FOOD IDEAS
No matter what you’re celebrating with a dragon-themed party, the food is SO easy to handle. Here are the ideas that we used for our snack bar:
- Dragon Fireballs – cheese balls
- Dragon Teeth – cone-shaped corn chips
- Dragon Scales – tortilla chips
- Dragon Tails – licorice
- Dragon Eggs – jelly beans
- Dragon Food – fish-shaped candy
Some other ideas include cupcakes that fit the colors or do a red and white swirl like we did to represent fire!
If you’re looking to do a full blown dragon themed food spread, try one of these ideas:
- Dragon Food – olives, fish-shaped crackers
- Berk’s Garden or Forest of Berk – veggie tray
- Dragon Tails – pigs in a blanket or hot dogs
- Rocks – grapes
- Dragon Teeth – apple slices cut in half
- Viking Shields – Round crackers, round sausage slices, cheese slices
I’ve even seen someone make skewers with lunch meat and cheese and call them Hiccup’s Skewers! That’s such a cute idea!
For the snack foods, I’ve made a free printable of the food label tags we used!
You can print them on a sheet of cardstock, cut them, fold them, and you’re ready to plan your snack bar for a fun How to Train Your Dragon movie night!
