Bunnies and rabbits are always popular with kids, but especially in the Spring and around Easter! Our Letter B Craft is one of our most popular letter of the week crafts! So we thought it would be fun to do another little critter with our Letter R craft and came up with this cute rabbit!

You can check out all of our letter of the week crafts for plenty of hands-on fun to do with your kids!

Alphabet Letter R Craft: R is for Rabbit

LETTER R CRAFT

Don’t let the shape of a capital R scare you away from this letter of the week craft! If you’re not great at drawing, you can use the printable R craft template to print on out for this project!

If your kids are old enough, you can have them cut it out after you print it for fine motor skills practice.

Materials to make letter R letter of the week craft

R LETTER OF THE WEEK CRAFT MATERIALS

To make this craft you’ll need pink, white, yellow, and black card stock or construction paper. If you’re going to print your letter R, I recommend using card stock because you can print directly on it. If you only have construction paper, you can still use the template. Just print it and cut it out. Then trace it onto your construction paper and cut that R out.

Here’s what you need:

  • Light pink, white, yellow and black card stock  or construction paper – BUY RAINBOW CARD STOCK or CONSTRUCTION PAPER
  • Googly eyes
  • Black marker
  • Glue stick
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Letter R template

White letter R cut out of card stock

Draw a letter R onto your white paper or print one using the Letter R Template.

Cut it out with scissors.

Paper craft bunny ears

Cut out two white long oval ears and two smaller long oval pink ears.

Glue the pink ears to the white ears and then glue the finished ears onto the top back of the letter R.

Cut out a circle with wavy edges and glue to the left bottom side of your letter R. For fun you can also use a cotton ball for a fluffy rabbit tail. Either pull gently on one cotton ball to make it larger or use a few of them.

Googly eyes and whiskers for rabbit craft

Glue your googly eyes onto the curved part of the letter R. Make sure they’re on the upper part of the curve.

Then cut out a small pink triangle with rounded corners and glue it under the googly eyes.

Cut two thin rectangles out of black paper. Glue one rectangle on each side of the nose shape to be the rabbit’s whiskers.

Draw a smile under the nose.

Then glue the letter R rabbit to a yellow sheet of paper to finish the craft.
